@townes.dj returns to Detroit. After his first appearance at TV Lounge left the room asking what’s next, LAÍRE welcomes back TOWNES for another night behind the decks. Known for his vinyl-only approach, TOWNES builds sets the way they were meant to be heard, pulling from deep crates and weaving together techno, electro, breakbeats, and unexpected rhythms. His selections move between eras and styles, creating a constant sense of motion on the floor where every record opens a new direction For this night, TOWNES will be joined by a small circle of Detroit selectors who share a similar philosophy behind the decks. DJs who understand that a night is built through patience, energy, and the right record at the right moment.

Hello LAÌRE fans and the Detroit techno community, This post is an appreciation of YOU!! Thank you for supporting LAIRE since November 2025. After experiencing ADE 2025 with some of my closest friends and mentors, I saw something in Europe that felt deeply missing back home in Detroit. A stronger space for hard techno, community, and genuine connection on the dancefloor. Through the support of the people, OGs, artists, and everyone who has shown up, we’ve been able to build something special together. What started as a small idea has grown into 40–50+ people every event, bringing together veterans, local legends, rising DJs, and new faces all under one roof. Every night has helped shape LAÌRE into what it is becoming. Whether you played, danced, supported, shared flyers, or simply showed up thank you. We’re only getting started. See you June 12 for our first summer event. ❤️

Duck Groves (they/she) is a DJ and cellist born & raised in the Midwest. She was born in Flint MI, grew up in Indianapolis IN, and now lives back in Detroit MI. Growing up an outcast for their gender nonconformity and queer relationships in a hyper-conservative state like Indiana, making music provided an escape from the pains that came with queer youth. Now they illustrate this metaphor of a cute alien attempting escape to somewhere better by combining Midwest Techno & Extraterrestrial Electro. With a cutting-edge style of long blend composite mixing as their artistic signature, Duck Trash aims to make new tracks remixed in real time for your heavy momentum dance pleasure. Juxtaposition is always the aim in this unique new school approach: hard against soft, hi-fi against lo-fi, classic & seasoned against brand new & raw. What makes a stale electro track more interesting? A relentless 4-on-the-floor techno kick drum. What makes an obnoxiously intelligent IDM track more relatable? A lo-fi house pixellated hi-hat. What makes techno more fun to dance to for a long time? Blending it with literally anything else... RA Guide: https://ra.co/events/2411820

In a city defined by its mechanical soul, LAÍRE has emerged as a definitive architect of modern dancefloor dynamics. Rooted in the underground heritage of Detroit, the sound is a deliberate exploration of the space between raw, driving energy and sophisticated, melodic depth. This approach consistently redefines the musical landscape, delivering a technical masterclass in tension where deep textures meet a relentless, rhythmic drive. Rather than simply playing to the room, he curates a seamless sonic journey that respects the history of the genre while aggressively pushing toward its future. Every set is built with a sophisticated understanding of how sound moves through a warehouse space: immersive, high-impact, and stripped of the unnecessary. This is the sound of a city that never stops moving. Experience LAÍRE on the rooftop. Friday, May 22nd. 🌴🥶

Samuel Sprague is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, vocalist, and DJ based in Detroit’s electronic underground. Samuel Sprague’s endeavors in music production tended to eschew convention from a young age, demonstrating a proclivity for ambient drone and musique concrète under the moniker Morning Mesh and publishing such works under his own avant-garde cassette label Tape Hiss Music. Sprague moved to Detroit in 2017 to refine his techniques in the electroacoustic arts at Wayne State University, paired with studies in jazz percussion. His current artistic pursuits seek to marry Detroit's traditions in groove construction with left-field intersections of art and technolog RA GUIDE: https://ra.co/events/2411820

One of Ohio’s finest, Columbus-based Jenny Arcade has spent the last decade mixing records. She brings her sparkling punk DIY attitude to the dancefloors. When she was about 14 years old she was booking hardcore shows. Never losing that drive to present music, she has created and promoted various parties like Trou De Loup, Strut, and Little Beat. Jenny Arcade has held residency in the Disco Room at one of North American’s most valued parties, Midwest Fresh. For five years you could find her among the shelves of Roots Records working as a buyer and manager, and spent an equal amount of time managing and booking for Double Happiness. She also ran a radio show at WCRS called Mixed Emotions. Jenny Arcade has a zero bullsh@t attitude, and does everything in her strength to encourage and empower the women and queer folks in her community. She participated in Chicago’s Walking and Falling workshop which teaches women and nonbinary people the art of DJing. With that experience she created a W&F chapter for Columbus in 2018. Currently Jenny is curating events and co running a women run collective and record label out of Columbus called Deep Field. Jenny Arcade pushes the envelope in sound and with versatility. From disco to acid to techno, a set from Jenny Arcade is equal parts emotional and sassy, and she is not to be F$&@:$ with RA GUIDE: https://ra.co/events/2411820

Tangle Garden is a Detroit based DJ and producer shaping a sound rooted in techno and dub techno, balancing restraint with intensity. Her sets favor hypnotic pacing and textured rhythms, building atmosphere and tension with a steady, deliberate hand. Now performing as Shay, she brings a deeply personal evolution into her work, refining an approach that prioritizes depth, space, and emotional weight over immediacy. Her foundation in music came early, influenced by her father, producer Robert Andrew Bowman, and a close connection to the studio environment. Her debut album Death of Shadow Rain introduced a darker, introspective palette, centered on repetition, subtle movement, and immersive sound design. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Tangle Garden delivers a cohesive, slow-burning energy that holds the room without forcing it. RA GUIDE: https://ra.co/events/2411820
