Swetha Chandrasekar (Swe) is a Chicago-based dancer with over 12 years of training in Bharatanatyam and street styles. She currently dances with Movement of Desis, Patchwerk, Kalapriya, and DesiXStreet, engaging in a vibrant cross-cultural dialogue that bridges South Asian movement with global street forms.
Inspired by the artists she meets through DesiXStreet, and the wider creative community, Swe finds joy in exploring how identity, rhythm, and culture intersect. Through her role in DesiXStreet, she hopes to nurture a welcoming, inclusive space for artists who navigate multiple cultural identities, where everyone’s story moves freely and finds its own rhythm.
