🌱Eran Jije Open-Air Exhibition | Lagos 2025 - opening: Saturday, 22nd November 2025 EJP presents “Environmental Stewardship” - a curatorial theme that invites reflection on our relationship with the natural world. The exhibition repositions communities not as distant caretakers, but as active participants within an interconnected ecological system. Through storytelling, indigenous knowledge, artistic expression, material experimentation, and upcycling practices, it challenges conventional narratives - urging us to see environmental care not as charity, but as shared responsibility and mutual survival. As part of our ongoing partnership with @fordfoundation and @goetheinstitut_nigeria for the Claiming the Future Project (@ctf2025_ ), @nonewfriends_nnf participating artists and collaborators held workshops, communal gatherings, and developing pieces leading up to the exhibition. These encounters were more than preparation — they transformed the community itself into a living exhibition. Here, the boundaries between artist and audience dissolve, and the community emerges as both muse and maker, voicing collective responses to climate vulnerability, stewardship, and ancestral connections to the land. The Eran Jije Open-Air Exhibition 2025 culminates in a multi-sensory experience featuring installations, mural displays, performances, soundscapes, shared meals, traditional games, and spontaneous music sessions. This gathering is a shared offering: a call to listen, feel, and imagine an alternative ecological future rooted in reciprocity, memory, and healing. Curated by: @iam_peterbata Our doors are open — join us in reclaiming the earth and renewing our shared commitment to a sustainable future. #EJ2025 Brand design: @kimboy_graphics #EnvironmentalStewardship #EarthFighter #sustainability #ArtExhibition #LagosCulture #ERANJIJE2025 #upcycled

Lagos Demolition Impact - LEAVING NOTHING UNREMEMBERED We remember that we were here. Our blood, labor, spirits, bones, deities, bodies, memories, footsteps, languages, cultures, tribes, voices, and forms of urban life animated this land.
The land does not forget.
We shall carry this memory forward. Bariga, Oworo, and Makoko custodians built and sustained this community long before now. #LetThePoorBreathe #ForcefulEviction #LagosDemolition #CoastalCommunities #WaterfrontStories

Lagos Demolition Impact - Making the POOR POORER. As citizens of the world, we feel erased from the city we call home. Stripped of our settlement in Lagos landscape, its urban planning, and its imagined future, we are treated not as custodians of the city, but as intruders within it. The government’s intention appears heartbreakingly clear: to wipe out every waterfront settlement in Lagos without any plan for resettlement, compensation, or alternative housing. Families are rendered homeless overnight. Parents are left unable to provide. Children are denied the space to dream. Entire communities are pushed into unbearable suffering, their lives shattered in an instant. Lagos continues to expand and modernize, yet this so-called progress deliberately excludes the poor, pushing them deeper into poverty. For more than twelve months, waves of demolitions and forced land seizures have torn through coastal communities across the city. Over 150,000 people have been displaced. Homes, personal belongings, and livelihoods have been reduced to ashes. More than 20 lives have been lost. Floating schools have been destroyed, and businesses wiped out. Today, children wake up without classrooms, unsecured, and without hope, left knee-deep in mud and uncertainty, abandoned by a system meant to protect them. Is this what they truly call DEVELOPMENT? #letthepoorbreathe #lagosdemolition #coastal #waterfront #bariga #oworo #makoko

Lost Songs of the Middle Passage | Exhibition opens in London tomorrow — Friday 24th & Saturday 25th October 2025 at @artotellondonhoxton I’m thrilled to finally share something truly special I’ve been creating with the incredible ASIKO @asiko_artist . This collaboration has been a beautiful meeting of minds — both of us have been exploring the theme of water as an archival vessel and spiritual conduit in our individual practices. The exhibition reimagines the untold stories of those thrown overboard during the transatlantic slave trade, blends moving image, sound, and memory to create a digital monument for the lost — a space to feel, reflect, and remember. While composing the score, I drew from my ongoing research project, The Water Knows the Truth – ASK IT, which delves into water and memory as sonic metaphors. Through constant dialogue with water, the work reflects on our deep intimacy with it as a keeper of ancestral knowledge, storytelling, history, and spiritual connection. The sound score interacts with ASIKO’s layered acrylic visuals and moving images, creating an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Thank you, Ade, for trusting me with this project. I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to future collaborations. The exhibition runs alongside my sound installation performance, ÀJÒ. Join us 24–25 October 2025 at Art’otel London Hoxton, EC2A 3DT. Special thanks for my talented team – Tomi, John, Michael, Feranmi, Dare (mixing engineer) and Soplane. I truly appreciate you for joining me on this journey and being part of the process. ⏺️PA #Transatlantic #LostSongOfTheMiddlePassage #Memory #Untoldstories #Sounddesigner #Artotel #Asikoartists #SlaveTrade #UnrecordedSongs

One evening in January 2024, I found the courage to act on a persistent thought, to move, create, and compose something new in that very moment. I spoke to my feet, urging them to follow my mind’s direction. What came out of that moment was a piece created not for anyone else, but as a gift to satisfy my own spirit. As an artist, I’m drawn to things that carry memory, objects, clothes, images, stories, videos - anything that has stood the test of time and gains new meaning when revisited. There’s something beautiful about how feelings evolve when we return to the familiar. This piece was recorded raw, both audio and video with my @iphone @shotoniphoneworld in the hood (Seaside area of Bariga). I was simply having fun with it on @BandLab and @inshot_video_editing_tips24 . Now, looking back at it, it feels special… and maybe it’s time to share it with you all. Anyone out there who need to hear this again - fellow thinkers, composers, and sound artists, you don’t need all the gears, gadgets or the perfect setup to begin. You just need to take that first step. Everything you need is already within you. Thank you @sams_documentaries for the special touch🙌🏿🎨 ⏺️PA
