Cynthia Delia Coddington joined IACP in June of 2023 and attended the 2025 IACP Summit in Brooklyn, saying, "It was a great experience that reinforced the value of this community, and it certainly won't be my last." After self-publishing her first cookbook, "Senza Glutine: Timeless Italian Dishes for the Gluten Free Palate," she was looking for a respected culinary organization that offered both community and continued education. "IACP stood out as a place where I could connect with like-minded professionals, exchange ideas, and deepen my expertise through conferences, talks, and shared resources. It’s been an invaluable source of inspiration and professional growth." Hi members, join us @iacppix Monday, May 18th 5:00 PST/ 8:00 EST for an exciting event with Bay Area Photographer Andria Lo @aweilo . The event is celebrating AAPI, Photography Across Culture and Community. Andria is a commercial and editorial photographer, specializing in still life, food, and portraits. She was raised in Alaska and is now based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is interested in weaving together storytelling, cultural identity, observations of the everyday, and nostalgia into her work. Her collaborative project, Chinatown Pretty, @chinatownpretty celebrates the street style and stories of elders in historic Chinatowns across North America. She will present on these topics: Chinatown Pretty/ LNY still lifes/ Nostalgic food series and will also do a q&a to conclude the discussion. New member Theresa Scarbrough joined IACP earlier this year after seeing an announcement about the Food Photography & Stylists group, which recently restarted. We love that! Bringing the food professional community together is what IACP has been all about for 49 years. Theresa says "My interest piqued in food in 2015 after an editorial assignment to photograph local pastry chefs and it grew from there." She met her husband, a home cook, and they began collaborating in the kitchen with him making the food and her shooting their creations. How do you frame events not just as opportunities for promotion, but as creator-owned platforms and public-facing "properties?" On May 5th at 12:00 pm ET, IACP Food Writers, Editors & Publishers section meeting welcomes Heather Howard-Haffey, a writer and food event producer in Charleston. Whether an event property is staged independently, is inside of a larger event, or is digital, it should generate revenue, audience growth, and brand equity. If you were to ask members, what brings them to join IACP, the answer might just be other members. Take Mindy Crosato, who joined IACP this year (Welcome!) after member @sallyekus suggested that she consider joining IACP for the resources and networking. Mindy has been working on cookbook proposals for several years and is excited about her current concept. More about Mindy: she started baking out of her home kitchen in 2010. Fast forward to 2026 and she has a bakery and presence at Portland farmers' markets through @decadentcreationspdx , then opened a commissary and cooking school next door to her bakery at @collectivemarketpdx , and sells bagels at Portland farmers' markets through @notoriousb_a_g_e_l . She also baked on @foodnetwork show, Chopped and was a champion of the chocolate-themed episode during season 23 in 2015.
