Photos of mine from 1/31 and 1/30 were published by @leica_fotografie_international in their online gallery, with Leica’s jurors awarding one of my photos from the series “Kettle: The Undefinable Tenderness of a Mass Arrest” a Mastershot award, placing it amongst the top images captured on a Leica camera. In the 30 hours revolving around these photos, I was hit with a police baton twice, tear-gassed, shot multiple times with pepper-spray-munitions (including a direct hit to the face), and had a rubber bullet graze my head, mere millimeters away from causing a life-changing injury. I cannot express how much of an honor it is to continue the tradition of using a camera to fight injustice in our world.

In honor of World Press Freedom Day I want to give a huge shoutout to @quaaludesmagazine for featuring my photos in their debut publication ️ This series, titled “Dissent is Patriotic” chronicles the frontlines of anti-ICE demonstrations in LA from June 2025-February 2026.At at time where press freedom is actively under attack, it’s inspirational that small publications are using their platform to spread awareness on stories that challenge societal norms ️ It’s the first time I’ve seen my work printed on paper, and words cannot express how elated I am to be amongst the wonderful, zany, queer, visionary and talented artists who’ve been featured in Quaaludes Magazine. The latest of my work featured by @leica_fotografie_international , a photo of student activists engaging in a walkout protesting ICE, less than 30 minutes before LAPD utilized less-than-lethal weapons to disperse the crowd of minors. Friendly reminder that ICE hasn’t gone anywhere; they’re still inflicting unspeakable pain to civilians nationwide, abducting people off the streets, kidnapping folks from outside of their immigrations hearings, separating families with reckless abandon and violating constitutional human rights without hesitation.
