@glblctzn brought together members of our Board, @fifa President gianni_infantino and potential partners and investors to discuss a shared goal: raising USD $100 million to expand access to education and football for children around the world.
This Fund depends on capital, coordination, and partners ready to support organizations delivering impact in communities that need it most.

At FIFA, we have a responsibility to do everything we can to have a real impact. Together with Global Citizen Co-Founder and CEO Hugh Evans and with the commitment, help, support, and passion of legends like Shakira and Kaká, we are embracing an incredible project: the Global Citizen Education Fund. 👏
We believe that football itself is a school of life that teaches discipline, respect, team spirit, and fosters togetherness while also imparting the key lesson of handling defeat and setbacks, among other important values. That is why education and football form a symbiotic relation - and it is why we created the FIFA Football for Schools Programme in 2019.
FIFA is present in 211 countries in the world, more than the United Nations, and through this FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, we aim to raise USD 100 million during the FIFA World Cup 2026, and go beyond even after the tournament has ended to raise USD 1 billion, because it is for the most important cause of educating children.
This mission drives and motivates us, and we will continue to put all our heart and all our passion into this project. ⚽❤️

Today, we announced nearly USD $47 million raised for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The impact is already starting.
The first 27 recipients have been announced across 10 countries, supporting grassroots organizations expanding access to education and sport for children in underserved communities.
But we are still only halfway there.
The goal is USD $100 million, and over the next 60 days, we need businesses, foundations, philanthropists, and partners to step up.
This is how history starts: with people, platforms, and institutions choosing to move together.

Organising a FIFA World Cup is already incredible, and bringing so many people together is truly fantastic. But on the world’s biggest stage on 19 July with Global Citizen Co-Founder and CEO Hugh Evans, Chris Martin from Coldplay, and with Shakira, Madonna, and BTS headlining the first-ever @fifaworldcup Final Halftime Show, we will combine music and football to create magic that will last far beyond the final whistle. It will impact the lives of children globally and once more, football will make a difference in shaping a better world with the dreams of young girls and boys at its forefront. 👏
