It's been such a pleasure collaborating with the @silvereyecenter@silvereyelab team, printer @sergeyzlotnikov , and our dear friends @mikaelowunna and @marques.redd of @rainbowserpentinc to bring FIERCE: Pittsburgh to life, to welcome the sitters, and to bring @ajamustudios and his work to Pittsburgh. The opening was an extraordinary celebration and since then we have welcomed classes, artists from the Carnegie International, and so many visitors during Unblurred First Fridays.
The exhibition, celebrating Black queer life, is up through May 2. Join us for a screening of the 30 minute documentary *Between Us, the Gaze*, tomorrow night 4/14 6pm with readings and conversation with Mikael Owunna, Marques Redd, and @devanshimoyama .

Radial Survey Vol.4 at @silvereyecenter closes on Saturday. Come in today, or tonight for Unblurred First Friday 6-9, or tomorrow 11-5 for a last look at the incredible work of @_yoshann@1anjohn@orrantia_juan_@_cmlorenz_@burnstorm and @mcnairevans that explores ways that photography and photographic ideas can be used in world building and storytelling.

This past year has brought changes, challenges, and uncertainty, yet the ways people come together through art and in community remain powerful. When we see each other, and ourselves in one another, openness becomes strength, and art becomes a vehicle for imagination, expression, and shared vision.

GALLERY
Saturday, Dec 20 is your last chance to see Radial Survey Vol.4 before the new year! The gallery will be closed Dec 24, 2025–Jan 1, 2026. Additionally, there will be no late Thursday hours until February.
THE LAB
Tuesday, December 16, 2025 will be the last Lab evening hours until the new year! Lab evening hours resume January 6, 2026.
SALON
There will be no Salon in December. We’ll resume regular monthly salon in January!
I’m so grateful for the artists of @silvereyecenter Radial Survey Vol.4 @burnstorm , @mcnairevans , @_cmlorenz_ , @orrantia_juan_ , @1anjohn , @_yoshann , and their generosity in collaborating with us and for the meaningful conversations at the Symposium on Friday. As always a joy to curate the show with @htrompeteler . I have learned so much along the way.
Thank you to everyone who supported Radial Survey, came to the opening, and who took part in the Symposium. And to Silver Eye’s board and for the amazing team, Sean, Helen, @kenzioconnor , @jaco6_ the Scholars, catalog writers @mstarafay , @newtonmatthew@lynne_bias , catalog designer @elanaschlenker , moderator @cynthiastucki , installers @lizzeemash and Brian McNearney, and all of the care and energy they have put into this program. I'm so grateful for the support from artists, donors, patrons, and supporters who have all made this fundraiser possible. The auction preview party was a fun, wonderful celebration of community and the preview exhibition shows the range of photographic possibility that Silver Eye supports.

When I walk through this exhibition I'm moved to see the many different ways that all of these artists, many connected to Pittsburgh, speak their voices through the pieces in the show, and I'm further moved when I feel the support and focus they bring to Silver Eye. Many of these artists have exhibited here in the last three years and if you've been coming to see the shows regularly, maybe at Unblurred, this will feel like a mix compilation of what we've been doing.
Purchase a ticket for the Live Auction event on October 19th for food from Sprezzatura and the excitement of live auction bidding as Concept Art Gallery director Alison Brand Oehler takes us through the breadth of possibilities of contemporary photography.
