I love the racks that came with the building, but there’s a lot of wasted space. I didn’t want to lose the light and sight-lines nor allow for stuff to fall off the back of the shelf, so I devised a cubby solution for improved storage: a little “screened-in porch” that still lets me keep large sheets and things below.
And how bout my jenky dovetail and cable job to support the center span?! #diydoidothistomyself
My work jeans are atatters, so I mended them myself and added a patch that offers increased flexibility and a small tool pocket. Why get paint on a clean pair of pants?
I need more joy.
These things help a little:
Daffodils
My beautiful senescent dogwood
Steakhouse at home
Precisely painted things (rolled window framing)
Artist friends with their work
See I’ve already begun to obsess about maximizing my use of space. So I threw together a “rack” for under the shelf decking.
This is why I keep every random bit of hardware or cutoffs and such. Cobbled together with things I just had lying around.
Finally done with all the brickwork!*
Starting to actually imagine that I’ll be able to work in here this Spring, although the task of cleaning all the dust and organizing is a daunting idea.
I can already see that the window paint needs attention, so please 🤞let it not take much longer.
*(Until I discover that this didn’t work and they start to crumble again.)
