We believe materials carry emotion. At Rubicon Bay, reclaimed oak, limestone, walnut, granite, and steel were layered together to create interiors that feel tactile, warm, and deeply livable. Nothing was chosen just for appearance, every finish was selected for how it would age, feel, and shape the atmosphere of the home. The full Rubicon Bay story is now featured in Tahoe Quarterly. A bedroom should feel like an exhale, soft, calming, and full of quiet character. For this space at Rubicon Bay, we layered warm wood tones, playful spindle detailing, and richly patterned wallcoverings to create a room that feels both cozy and collected. The geometric wallpaper adds just the right amount of rhythm and charm, while the natural textures and earthy palette keep everything grounded and relaxed. ✨ Framed by Tahoe light and surrounded by thoughtful details, this room was designed to feel inviting at every hour of the day, whether it’s slow mornings under layered linens or winding down after a day by the lake. Warm, comfortable, and a little nostalgic in the best way. 🤍 —The Rubicon Bay Project by HSH Interiors, featured in Tahoe Quarterly . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #RubiconBay #TahoeInteriors #MountainModern #HSHInteriors #CozyBedroomDesign [patterned interiors, warm layered bedroom, Tahoe retreat aesthetic, mountain modern bedroom, textured cozy spaces]

For the guest bedroom at Rubicon Bay, we wanted the space to feel cozy, grounded, and quietly playful. The deep charcoal paneling creates a rich backdrop for the warm wood tones, layered textiles, and vintage-inspired details, while the forest wallpaper softly brings the outdoors inside. Every element was chosen to make the room feel intimate and welcoming, like the perfect place to unwind after a long Tahoe day. It’s moody, warm, and filled with personality in all the right ways. Rubicon Bay is now featured in Tahoe Quarterly, and we’re so excited to keep sharing more corners of this home with you. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #HSHInteriors #RubiconBay #TahoeQuarterly #BedroomDesign #MountainModernInteriors [guest bedroom design, moody interiors, layered textures, mountain modern bedroom, Tahoe home interiors]

Warm wood ceilings, oversized windows, and dining spaces are designed to invite people to stay a little longer. At Rubicon Bay, we wanted these gathering areas to feel cozy, welcoming, and deeply connected to the surrounding Tahoe landscape. Natural oak tones, sculptural furniture, layered textures, and soft earthy hues work together to create a mountain-modern atmosphere that feels elevated without ever feeling formal. ✨ The carved rustic dining chairs bring a sense of character and craftsmanship, while the softer game-table nook creates a more intimate corner for slow mornings, coffee, cards, and evening wine by the trees. Framed by soaring ceilings and natural light, every detail was chosen to make the home feel warm, lived-in, and effortlessly relaxed. This is the kind of space made for long dinners, easy conversations, and weekends that never feel rushed. 🤍 — The Rubicon Bay Project by HSH Interiors, featured in Tahoe Quarterly Our Collaborators: Photography: @stephanie___russo Featured in: @tahoequarterly GC: @pleniumbuilders First Image: Chairs: @westelm Table: @mcgeeandco Lamp: @rejuvenationla Credenza: @cb2 Second Image: Dining Table: @crateandbarrel Dining Chairs: @chairishbydesign Rug: @armadilloandco Chandelier: @lostineathome . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #RubiconBay #TahoeInteriors #MountainModern #HSHInteriors WarmMinimalism [mountain modern interiors, Tahoe retreat design, warm natural textures, elevated rustic dining, cozy luxury interiors]

This corner of Rubicon Bay was designed to feel warm, social, and a little unexpected. Wrapped in deep blue cabinetry, glossy tile, exposed timber ceilings, and layered natural textures, the game room bar brings together playfulness and refinement in a way that feels effortlessly Tahoe. We loved balancing the richness of the wood tones with the cooler blue palette to create a space that feels cozy during winter evenings, yet fresh and inviting throughout the day. It’s relaxed, elevated, and made for gathering. Rubicon Bay is now featured in Tahoe Quarterly, and we’re so excited to finally share more from this home with you. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #HSHInteriors #RubiconBay #TahoeQuarterly #MountainModern #LuxuryInteriors [game room bar, blue cabinetry, walnut interiors, Tahoe lake house, warm contemporary design]

At Rubicon Bay, the kitchen was designed around gathering, movement, and ease. The blue-toned cabinetry adds a soft contrast against the oak, stone, and steel palette, while the oversized pass-through window creates a seamless connection to the outdoors. It’s functional, social, and quietly playful all at once. See more of Rubicon Bay in the latest Tahoe Quarterly feature. Some homes are designed. Others are slowly composed, layer by layer, material by material. Rubicon Bay was created to feel deeply connected to its surroundings: the lake, the stone, the cedar, and the ever-changing mountain light. Every texture and finish was chosen to bring warmth, calm, and quiet character into the home. We’re so excited to finally share this project with you through Tahoe Quarterly’s latest feature. We’ll never say no to a good pattern moment ✨ At HSH Interiors, we love using pattern in ways that feel a little unexpected, through sculptural rope detailing, layered textures, geometric metalwork, and rich natural stone. It’s less about being overly “matchy” and more about creating rhythm, contrast, and personality throughout a space. Some patterns whisper, some make a statement…our favourite homes always do a little bit of both. 🤍 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #HSHInteriors #PatternPlay #InteriorStyling #LayeredInteriors #DesignDetails [Sculptural textures, geometric accents, layered styling, artisan details, contemporary interiors]

At Holly’s home, we wanted every room to feel layered, personal, and quietly luxurious, the kind of home that feels just as beautiful during slow mornings as it does while entertaining friends late into the evening. We played with rich contrasts throughout the home: dramatic marble, sculptural silhouettes, velvet textures, brushed brass details, and soft drapery in jewel-toned hues that shift beautifully with the light. From the calming grey-and-white bath retreat to the deep plum living space and playful pops of colour in the study nook, each space was designed to feel connected while still carrying its own personality. One of our favourite parts of this project was balancing elegance with warmth, creating interiors that feel refined without ever feeling too precious. Thoughtful layering, natural light, and tactile materials helped us bring that feeling to life in every corner of this family home. ✨ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #HSHInteriors #CullodenParkHouse #LuxuryInteriors #TimelessDesign #InteriorStyling [Marble interiors, velvet furnishings, brass detailing, layered textures, contemporary luxury]

There are moments within a home that are not simply designed, they are lived. In our Edwardian project, we imagined these quieter corners as intimate companions to daily life. The library, layered with stories and patina, invites slow afternoons and thoughtful retreat. The study desk, poised and purposeful, becomes a place where ideas take shape with quiet clarity. By the fireplace, warmth gathers not just in flame, but in conversation, stillness, and the comfort of ritual. And the pianoforte, a gentle centrepiece, lends rhythm to the home, where music drifts effortlessly through light-filled rooms. Each space was conceived not as an afterthought, but as a celebration of how one unwinds, reflects, and creates. A home, after all, is defined as much by its pauses as by its presence. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #HSHInteriors #EdwardianLiving #LuxuryInteriors #DesignWithIntent #TimelessSpaces [Edwardian interiors, home library design, luxury living spaces, fireplace lounge, bespoke study desk, piano room aesthetics]

At Shinemaker, we designed the envelope of the home to dissolve, quietly, deliberately, into the landscape beyond. The full-height glazing system isn’t just an architectural gesture; it’s a calibrated decision. By extending windows and doors from floor to ceiling, we allowed uninterrupted sightlines to the mountains, ensuring the horizon remains present from every primary living space. Slim, dark-framed mullions create rhythm without obstruction, while the alignment of openings across the living and dining zones establishes a continuous visual axis outward. Materially, the restraint indoors, muted woods, tactile upholstery, and softened contrasts, lets the exterior take precedence. Light becomes the primary layer here, shifting through the day and animating the interiors in ways no artificial element could replicate. The result is a home where boundaries are softened, perspectives are extended, and nature is not a backdrop, but a participant. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #HSHInteriors #ShinemakerProject #ModernLiving #IndoorOutdoor #DesignNarrative [Floor-to-ceiling glazing, panoramic mountain views, seamless indoor outdoor flow, modern architectural windows, immersive living design]
