Stoked to deliver another completed commission to The Carissa in downtown SLO today!
It was fun getting messy and jazzy, and feeling free while making it.
Finding my first inclination when making things (and doing things in general) is to come at things as carefully and as calculated as possible so I can minimize mistakes and get things as accurate as I want them. But that's an inherently stressful way to exist, and sometimes giving yourself permission to be loose and free can be very liberating. Nothing is perfect, and it's not worth it trying to make something perfect.

Completed this commission for @suavesocialclub this week. Their first event is on March 1st at The Carissa in San Luis Obispo! Stop on by for a night of Latin dancing
The two dogs, one older and one younger, dance together. The elder whispering wisdom into the younger's ear as they step in their dance together. An exchange of experience and respect as the two are entranced in their movements.
Inspired by the organizer Jose's ancestral hometown of Colima, Mexico, which features a giant statue titled Los Perritos Bailarines de Colima, The Dancing Dogs of Colima, featuring the same scene
Such an honor making this piece for him, it was a lot of fun
