10/11からART FACTORY城南島のオープンスタジオが始まります。大変お世話になった城南島。アトリエ自体はこの夏に退去しましたが、今回が最後のオープンスタジオ参加となります。会場にいる時間は限られていますが、11/12まで公開制作を行う予定です。11/13～11/24には、完成した作品を展示します。 今年は新しい作家さんもたくさん入居され、城南島の雰囲気もぐっと新鮮です💛！ My last open studio at ART FACTORY Jonanjima will open from Oct 11. 【展示作品】 仲之湯で最も印象に残ったのは、長く通い続ける人の時間も、そこに残された気配も、ふと訪れた人の体験も、すべてが重なり合い、積み上がる場所だということでした。こうした空間の在り方と呼応するように、近くのリサイクルショップで見つけた双眼鏡やカセットテープ、オペラグラスを素材に作品を制作しました。一度は手放された物を手がかりに、過去に刻まれた時間や記憶を、再び現在に呼び戻すことを試みています。 中島裕子 What moved me most about Nakanoyu was its layering of time: the presence of those for whom the bathhouse has been part of everyday life, the traces of others no longer here, and the fleeting impressions of occasional visitors. I gathered three objects—binoculars, cassette tapes, and opera glasses—found in a nearby thrift shop, as a way of holding this sense of layered time. 4日にオープンした老舗銭湯・仲乃湯での展示。湯場での映像上映など素敵なオープニングとなりました。日〜金の営業時間中は、お風呂に入りながら作品を鑑賞できます。ただし、男湯と女湯の行き来はできないので、両方のお湯の作品を鑑賞したい場合は、銭湯休館日の11日、18日がおすすめ。休館日には、銭湯ツアーや手相占い、短編アニメーション上映会もあります。18日は会場にいます。お会いできたら嬉しいです。 Last Saturday was the opening of the show “AzAz” at Nakanoyu, a historic sento, featuring beautiful short film screenings in the bathing area. From Sunday to Friday, visitors can see the artworks while taking a bath. Men’s and women’s baths are separate, so to experience both sides of the exhibition we recommend visiting on the closed days — October 11 and 18 — there will also be sento tours, palm readings, and short animation screenings on these days! Working with both industrial and organic elements—leather shoes, glass beads, strands of hair, fish skin, and seashells—Nakajima draws out the latent meanings embedded in these items, treating them as if they were fragments of language. By arranging them in carefully considered compositions, she seeks to give form to the intangible: the shifting, often ambiguous terrain of the human inner world. In this exhibition, the introduction of moving image and poetry deepens the inquiry. These elements bring the contours of that inner world into sharper and more complex relief, yet never without a sense of slippage or distortion.
