We lost our wild and wonderful mother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend.
We loved her because no matter how outrageous she could be, she was always relatable and genuine and lovable.
That sparkle in her eyes and mischievous grin were real. It always felt like she had a delicious secret and couldn’t wait to share it. Her legacy is not only her incredible work on film, stage and television but also her endless kindness and empathy.
It doesn’t seem real or fair that she is gone.
But aren’t we lucky that we had her in our lives?

I was lucky enough to be on set in February for the first official day of shooting THE LOWDOWN episodes 2-10 (the pilot was shot in 2024). A Native drum circle blessed the set and creator/writer/director @sterlinharjo welcomed us all and talked about the importance of storytelling, reminding us to always remember our history and on whose shoulders we stand. This is one of the many reasons why this show is so damn special to me. ❤️
This photo captures my soul. I look crazy with joy because I am. This was taken by @sterlinharjo a few minutes before reading through episode 3 of “The Lowdown.” Pinching myself because I was back in Tulsa a year after shooting the pilot in 2024, being serenaded by the human tornado of talent that is @ethanhawke , who I now counted as a friend.
Surrounded by the best-of-the-best writers and actors, knowing our immensely creative adventure was continuing. I’m embarrassed by this photo because I look completely out of my mind. But I also love it because it’s so genuine. If you want to know what true happiness looks like for me, this is it. 🖤
