today marks the official introduction of @pocket.films.tm by @hieronymus.tm to the world. as an artist, to finally share the work you have been diligently preparing for several years, brings mixed emotions. yes, these emotions include elation, relief, and anticipation. but also fear. “will they be moved?” “will they feel the intention?” will they be better, more powerful versions of themselves afterward?” one viewer today at @portlandsaturdaymarket , stood for a long while before speaking. “it’s just so…”, then he paused. it didn’t seem as though he was searching for the right word, but more that he was trying to define the undefinable. “…impactful”, he finally breathed. it wasn’t necessary to dig into his reasoning. that’s not my place as the artist. my place is simply to create space; powerful, safe, and empathetic space. another viewer, without warning, launched into her vision for where one of the pieces would live. “in a mid century modern home,” she started, “in a well-used living room, with well-spaced furniture, bright windows, and otherwise uninhabited walls, with only this piece, given space to breathe. it doesn’t need anything else.” this is why i create. it’s why i labor so deeply through every seemingly insignificant detail and execution. it’s why i listen to specific music when working on specific pieces, and choose specific colors, materials, and techniques, depending on that specific piece’s needs. because it’s not about me. it’s not about it being my work. i’m not a guide, and have no desire to be. i only strive to be, a catalyst. and, “I just want to live, a beautiful life.”

i was honored to support @runnerstakeaction and @irco_updates (Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization), by creating these sacred pieces of art, to raffle off at the end of their charity 5k Butterfly Run this past weekend! 🦋 it was important to me to use the same butterfly stencils for this project that we used to mark the course for the event, in honor of all those who joined, and also for all those who may not have felt safe to join, due to our nation’s current climate. ❤️ hundreds of #portland locals showed up and showed out, to support our Immigrant and Refugee neighbors! 🤜🤛 thanks to your generosity, as of the most recent update, this event was able to raise $6,450 for @irco_updates (IRCO), to support their amazing efforts! 🙏🥳

(behind-the-scenes @flow.state.sessions.tm chat for previous post!) it was the #superbowl today, and our PNW @seahawks won! 🥳 (i live in #portland 🤝). also, with his epic halftime show, @badbunnypr reminded us that: - “the only thing more powerful than hate is love” ❤️ - “together we are America” 🌎 i couldn’t agree more, and that inspired me to work on the resin process for my piece entitled “we.” tonight in the studio. this piece is about family, whether that be blood family and/or chosen family. it’s also about #wethepeople and #weshallovercome . i hope to finish this, and several more pieces, in time to apply as an artist for the @artinthepearl show (by 2/15), so maybe you’ll be able to see this piece at that show later this year! 🤞 as always, much love, and much respect. 🙏❤️🤙 ——— we.  family is a funny thing.  each one looks differently, each one is its own.   our lives diverse, our interests varied, but something unites.   so, with grace, and mutual respect, for one another, and others, we gather again.   good times had, and it seems so simple, so undefined, so purely one-dimensional.   but, deep down, i think we all know, i think we all realize, that family is real, and family is deep.   simply put, family means us, family means, we. © hieronymus.™
