Last night we welcomed the legendary Brian Jackson at Hidden Grooves for a special playback session hosted by Kate Hutchinson exploring his forthcoming album Now More Than Ever with Masters at Work, alongside reflections and untold backstories of his legendary creative collaborations with the late Gil Scott-Heron.
Unheard music filled the room, with real conversations and deep listening throughout. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable evening.

1 Year of Grooves at @hiddengrooves 💿
Shoreditch was made complete with it - a hi-fi hideaway where vinyl does the talking, cocktails flip the classics, and that golden-era energy (with a touch of Virgin soul) never misses.
365 days around the sun looks good on you - join us in East London for music from resident DJs @louhayter_ and @samdonmusic this Friday night.
6pm ’til late.

Digging through the archive this week, we found ourselves revisiting Don Letts’ documentary The Revolution Will Not Be Televised: Gil Scott-Heron, which featured both Brian Jackson and Yasiin Bey. The fact that the two of them are now about to tour together, celebrating the legacy of Gil Scott-Heron, feels like one of those full circle moments that needs no explanation.
It only makes the title of Brian’s forthcoming album, Now More Than Ever, land even harder.
See you tomorrow.

Hidden Grooves is turning one 🪩
One year in, and we’re celebrating the only way we know how - good drinks, great energy, and records all night long.
Behind the decks: our lovely resident @louhayter_ moving effortlessly through disco, house, and left-field cuts. Joining her is @samdonmusic - dedicated collector and one of our favourite selectors - keeping things flowing from 6pm ‘til late.
Big love to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far. We can’t wait to celebrate with you 🍸

When the day ends, the night doesn’t have to.
Hidden Grooves is the perfect post-event spot for a few more rounds, great cocktails, shelves full of records, and the kind of atmosphere that keeps the energy going long after the main event.
