@heretical_objects :
The duo explores the sonic potential of different materials and the shifting relationships between humans and objects. They use unconventional method to invocate objects’ multistability. This approach let the objects they experiment free from their default function.
Heretical Objects base their musical arsenal to few, essential instrumental components. Through an iterative process of human–object–human–object (loop × n) hearing perception and reflection, they form dialogues with objects and space gradually into music phrase.
Yuxin Hu栩 created musical tools by using different type of microphones/diaphragms to hear objects acoustic and electromagnetic natures. She connects contact mic to different recycled objects, pickup coils with batteries, mobile devices, and other circuit boards to explore the electronic-magnetic field surrounds us.
Matteo Gherardi Vignolo uses handmade superball sticks to dives into the unexpected sounds of conventional instruments, using percussive instruments to generate unexpected sounds, such as long notes, melodies and sounds with long attack. This unconventional sounds are thought not only as a musical device but also to explore the physical perception of space, and the role that sound can have in that regard
Heretical Objects mainly perform their sonic concepts via free impro and open compositions, reflecting on sound characteristics such as space (distance-proximity), density, frequency complexity. All of these things differ them from the conventional or historicized musical system
