A late-period Eichler, located in the Fallen Leaf Park enclave of Los Altos, California, was lovingly adopted and adapted by a family intent on retaining its architectural heritage and making it work for real living.
The clients turned to Henrybuilt to accomplish what might feel like an impossibility: marrying sophisticated function with a friendly feel and integrating their day-to-day needs with an aesthetic that preserved the integrity of the home’s original design.

It may seem contradictory that a system approach to the kitchen can create an outcome that feels natural, intuitive, and deeply connected to place, as seen here in the California desert. But it is exactly what enables such results.
“We never felt constricted by the system parameters,” says Adam Rouse of @aidlindarlingdesign . “We did not experience compromise to the layout or the architecture with their approach. We had all the confidence the Henrybuilt work would turn out well because they stand behind it. There is a piece of mind knowing the systems work. But they are a different system company. They take that expertise to tailor their system to the architecture. And all the hard work they have done on R&D is being experienced daily by the client.”
