TICKETS NOW ON SALE 🎉 I WAS ALWAYS HERE 29 August 19.30 pm 30 August 11 am & 2.30 pm @mayflower.studios Working in partnership with @beyondreflectuk @southamptonpride (Ticket link in bio) ABOUT: “𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚.” Theatre For Life brings their next and biggest project yet, in collaboration with @beyondreflectuk I Was Always Here is an electrifying journey through trans+ histories. From the first trans surgeon, to the green rooms of the 90s club scene, through 1920s speakeasies and gothic literature, we celebrate the lives of trans+ people that history so often forgets. Our company of LGBTQ+ theatremakers blends music, digital storytelling, and cabaret, in a trailblazing verbatim play developed from personal narratives in creative workshops, interviews, and conversations with trans and gender-expansive people across Hampshire and beyond. In a time where trans+ lives are called constantly into question, these stories are more important than ever. This intergenerational story will make you laugh, make you think, and give you hope when hope seems hard to find. This project is supported with funding from @tnlcommunityfund thanks to National Lottery players. #iwasalwayshere #newtheatre #transstories #intergenerationalstories #mayflowerstudios

Introducing @hellothemwilliams (They/Them) 💫 One of our incredible cast members from ‘I Was Always Here’ a new intergenerational verbatim theatre project, performance & theatre tour across the SW / SE & London celebrating Trans+ stories, lived experiences, and histories. EM said: “Whenever I get to be on stage, I consider it an immense privilege. Touring as a trans performer, I acknowledge the responsibility that comes with it, alongside my other intersections as a Disabled, Black, Working Class artist. It’s very easy to think, with media representation being what it is, that coming out is reserved for people of a certain age. It’s odd to be considered an “elder,” when some people who look up to me have embraced their true selves long before I did. They’re my role models. The fear that leads to isms and phobias, both external and internal - It’s not a generational thing. It’s roots come from miseducation and the environment you grow up in - what you get to witness and what you get to be around. This show feels like an antidote, a balm, to counter misconceptions or peddled narratives. What better company could I ask to be a part of, than “Theatre for Life”, to embrace that.” BIO: EM (They/Them) is a nonbinary theatremaker & activist from the midlands. Credits include After The Act (New Diorama/Traverse Theatre), BodyJob (Criptic Arts - Bristol Old Vic), Sherlock Holmes and The Poison Wood (Watermill Theatre), My Brilliant Friend (National Theatre), Captain Corelli’s Mandolin (West End), Dream (RSC), As You Like It (Northern Broadsides) & Romeo & Juliet (Hull Truck). #IWasAlwaysHere #TransVoices #Theatre #theatreforlife #newtheatre Working in partnership with @beyondreflectuk Supported @tnlcommunityfund

In the Summer of 2012 I had the immense privilege of ending my studies at University of California Santa Cruz as a directing intern with an unbelievable smorgasbord of talent with @santacruzshakes (then Shakespeare Santa Cruz). The legacy that team lives on is nothing short of incredible. I think about it all the time. Studying Shakespeare in the states changed the game for me, because nothing was assumed. It was not assumed everyone knew, or should know the text. It was not assumed that everyone knew or should know how things were pronounced. I remember sitting with the creative team and my mind being blown - no one was made to feel uneducated or uncultured for not knowing. Honesty, truth and talent were given permission. This version of O’ Mistress Mine was composed by a chap I had the honour of meeting again at UC Santa Barbara at a fight choreography intensive with @duelingarts the following year. His name was Irwin Appel. I still have his sheet music, over ten years later. All this to say, I’m trying to share wee creative bits of my life more that I do that aren’t NDA’d, and give credit and love where it is due for the astounding people I’ve worked with along the way. Life is really, really cool sometimes. ID: EM, a light skin brown person with short close shaved dark hair, sits in front of a grey wall, in a blue vest with a wooden ukulele.

Going through waves of feeling like myself. Battled through self tapes today having to lie on the floor in between and keep topping up on painkillers. But despite that, still feeling like an actor. Still connecting to my art. And feeling bloody good about it to be honest. I honestly think I am the best I’ve ever been in my craft right now. I’m working hard on growing and learning. And I never could have done that if I didn’t put a whole lot of work into myself, into healing, into redefining my boundaries. So this one’s a lil reminder for myself: you’re really good at this boo. Keep going. ID: Mid shot of EM, a light skinned brown person wearing a blue vest looking out at us. Both arms are up and bent behind their head, revealing a tidy sum of underarm hair. They have a gold spiky septum piercing, dark eyes, dark close shaved head and a sprinkle of sun-kissed freckles across their nose.

I’m still, years later, so in love with my bespoke tattoo piece from @lina_tattoo_artist . I followed her for about four years I think before she emailed me, saying an opening in their books had popped up. And it happened to be my birthday. So I immediately booked flights for my first trip to Berlin. Where I now have deep spiritual ties and connections with beautiful souls and organisations. I love that, since then, I’ve had surgery and this piece cradles my scars for endometriosis and fibroid diagnostic and removal. Which I will have to have again. I wonder if it will cradle more, new incisions. It’s wild to see pictures taken within days of each other showing my stomach muscles in this area one second, and a protruded round belly the next. Dysphoria with these diagnoses is a trip y’all. The sun is starting to come out and my body creates valleys and troughs with shadow. The window is open and the traffic sounds like waves. ID: a medium to close up shot of a round brown belly, with an abstract art piece inked in black brush strokes an ink spots. The piece cascades over a hip bone picked out in shadow and sun light coming from the right, strong and bright. A key hole surgery scar is visible. Black underwear line follows the sweeping ink pattern. Navy blue sheets and light grey cotton duvet cover.

#transpose #BoundariesnotBurdens 2026 Scrappy messy (to me) do it anyway explorations with a new crip body that finds being in the air easier than being on the ground a lot. I'm trying real hard to post more stuff. I've been poked by many wonderful creative groups I am a part of to try and do this more, rather than just the documentation on my laptop of my ventures. Aims: To give more visibility from my own practice of ambulatory wheelchair users, aerialists and dancers with chronic fluctuating dynamic illnesses. Don't assume we can't do things until we tell you. Or, better yet, ask what you can do to make it possible for us to take part. Sounds simple. It really, unfortunately isn't. I am so grateful for this body and this space. I have a whole heaping bunch of privilege and I'm trying to use it whilst I can. Video Description: EM, a black light skinned athletic non binary person with a mess of bleach tipped dark curls creates flowing shapes on an aerial trapeze. They are wearing a maroon lace cropped sports top with their stomach and back muscles exposed, and matching dark red leggings with dark and brighter patches designed ergonomically around their thighs and shins. The backdrop is white with shadows accentuating their muscles, and the shapes they flow through, with moments of breath and pause in keeping with the atmospheric music. The pivot upside down below the bar, hooking over one knee to roll up to sit on the bar. They balance hands free with the bar between their legs. They grab the ropes either side and sweep their leg through to sit on the bar and rest their head against the side of the rope, before readjusting to look down to the bottom left corner facing the light. With thanks and appreciation to #AnitasRoom @brighton_dome selected residency space February 2026 With love, from a terrified by sharing shit EM (ee-ehm like the initials) x Music - @marthahillmusic Track: Let Me Down Easy (geddit?)

I bet this caption got ya 👀 🤣 But all jokes aside, have you ever clocked how some businesses throw one person with multiple marginalised identities on a poster and call it “diversity”? 🙃 Yeah… same! In this clip, EM (they/them) breaks down the pressure of being “the one” — the illusion of inclusion that leaves people overexposed and under-supported. 🎧 Have you caught up on our latest episode, The Trans Queer Disabled Experience? We get into what real representation actually looks like — beyond the optics. Hit the link in bio to listen, share your thoughts in the comments, and tag someone who needs to hear this. #TheIntersectionsPodcast #TransQueerDisabled #DisabilityJustice #RepresentationMatters #RealInclusion #NotYourDiversityHire #CallItOut
