It’s our first official release together, and since we both started our projects around the same time, it feels like a full circle moment. This track has been with me for a long time, I know it like an old friend now. For the remix, I wanted to imagine what the track would sound like if it had the pulse of a Syrian dabke instead of Palestinian. The rhythms and energy stood out to me, especially the percussion and backing vocals in the stems I received. I aimed to make it feel intimate, like we’re right there in the studio with the band, sharing the joy of making the track. I really hope this remix connects with people everywhere and shows just how rich and diverse the music from our region can be.” هالو سايكلپو: ”العمل على هذا الريمكس يعني لي الكثير. هذا أوّل تعاون رسمي بيني وبين السبعة وأربعين، ولأنّنا بدأنا مشاريعنا تقريبًا في الفترة نفسها، أشعر أنه يعيدنا إلى بداياتنا ليكون لحظة تكتمل فيها الدائرة. هذه الأغنية رافقتني لسنوات طويلة، وصارت قريبة مني جدا. وفي هذا الريمكس تحديدًا، حاولت أن أتخيّل كيف ستبدو الأغنية لو حملت نبض الدبكة السورية بدلًا من النبض الفلسطيني. أكثر ما لفت نظري في الأغنية كان الإيقاعات والطبقات الصوتية الخلفية، وحاولت أن أحافظ على إحساس قريب وحيّ، كأنّنا في الاستوديو مع الشباب نتشارك لحظة صناعة هذا العمل. وأتمنى أن يصل هذا الريمكس إلى الناس في كل مكان، وأن يُظهر تنوّع وغنى الموسيقى في منطقتنا بلاد الشام، وما تستطيع أن تحمله من روح وطاقة واختلاف.“

The “Fake Lines: Sono Levant” compilation confronts this colonial legacy head on, especially as the ge/n-o/ci/de in G-a/z-a is enabled by the fragmentation of surrounding countries into pseudo states; products of imperial divide and conquer tactics that leave them stripped of real sovereignty. Through this collaboration, the project aims to reconnect the musical fabric of the Levant and reaffirm its shared cultural identity. Released via Fake Lines, which is a non-profit record label. Most of the proceeds will be dedicated to supporting the ‘’Arab Group for the Protection of Nature’’ non profit organization.
