Visit at @letterformarchive !!!!! That place seemed to be already wonderful from its online presence, but once you are in there in person, it is so amazing it is really hard to leave! On first pic: most happiest @rafaeldietzsch 🤣 Second: @stewf and Rob Saunders showing off the collection of hand painted movie posters titles 😱 Third and fourth: the Archive has recently received a superb collection of Chinese typefaces and sign painting manuals from the early 20 to mid 20 century, gathered by @synopticoffice . Such a great and generous donation!! These are super rare!!! 🤩🤩🤩

I still can’t believe that I’ve been invited to give a talk at Face/Interface conference this year. It is organised by @stanfordsilicon , with @firstgenprofessor and Audrey Gao. I presented my project @words_of_type to a prestigious audience in a even more prestigious environment (or is it the other way around? 🙃), which has never made me more nervous. But many kind hearts came to tell me how good my talk was 💖🫣 This conference is a great mix of talks about linguistics, history, research, and… typography! A great one to follow and to attend whenever the next edition will come!

@words_of_type fun fact: For some who might have noticed this: In our first posts about the Thai lecture and workshop with @boom.type coming soon (BOOK YOUR SEATS - link in bio!), we wrote the word “Thaï” with an ï. This is a stupid mistake from me to put this ï everywhere. Why? In French, we write “Thaïlande” for the country, and “Thaï” for its language and script. The “a + i” combo as is is pronounced as one sound, and we use the ï to split the “a” and ”i” sounds. But I didn’t even think that in English there is no such thing as the ï, and put it anyway in the English texts... 🤦‍♀️ Note to self: always double (or triple?) check with the speaker who knows the stuff better.
