Scouting Mission Complete! 🎣
Today, the boys and I hit the waters outside the Golden Gate Bridge to prep for our upcoming swimbait and jigs-only trip on September 14th. It didn’t take long before the fish were chasing down our gear! I managed to haul in a few keeper lingcod, with a few close calls that just didn’t stick. We also had a variety of rockfish species keeping us busy.
Afterward, we switched it up and went hunting for halibut. Two drifts later, we landed two nice-sized halibut ready for dinner and a movie! 😂

Last week, we switched up our sewing schedule by introducing the Sling, Market Tote, and Rolltop Backpack in our classes. Each session, we refine the process to elevate the maker’s experience, and it’s so rewarding to see how each student selects materials and showcases their sewing skills.

Mastering hand positioning is crucial for sewing. Over the years, I’ve observed thousands of skilled sewers in factories across Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, Korea, Japan, Philippines, California, Minnesota, and Washington. Despite the diverse locations, these sewing operators share similar techniques. The knowledge I share comes from 25 years of experience, both living and visiting these factories.
