Another happy customer with their brand new custom surfboard!
Eric Brecheen looks pretty stoked on his brand new 7’2” Carver. Great color choices.
This template is meant for going fast in head high surf and turning hard. The outline is streamlined, yet has enough volume to get around easily in the line up and catch plenty of waves.
If you like to turn and go fast, the Carver will make it happen for you.
This board just looks like it wants to go fast!
Fresh out of the glass shop at Global, here’s a 7’ x 21” x 3” Speed Seed single fin that was custom shaped for Johnny Meeks.
With a beak nose and relaxed entry rocker, the Seed likes to get in early and go fast. Slight vee into a double concave in the tail, it really likes to fly around.
Now in a bit of a classical mood, possibly more suited for the longer lines and softer curves of this template.
This one is a 9’6” RON (Regular Old Noserider) being custom shaped for Josh Burr.
So much fun to be making boards with a person in mind, imagining how they’re going to ride the board and how it will work for them.
Working on a 7’ Speed Seed for Johnny Meeks!
Glad to be back in the shaping room at Global and cranking some boards out.
Welcome to the Machine indeed…
Looking through a backstock of my @usblanks ready to be cut for Junod boards at the KKL machine shop @kklmachine
Some of these have been here for YEARS. Time to clear out the dead wood!
Here’s a review of the Connector model from Jeff Mora:
“Only a few sessions but performance advantage, compared to 11-2 glider, was clear. This is the only reference I have for comparison. Other boards are log style.
First impression. During paddle out, was super fast. Moreover, post paddle drift is noticeably faster and further, despite sitting a bit lower in the water. Because of above and shape listed below, catches waves as well or better than the 11-2.
Turns, on command/engages with the wave and generates speed. Overall shape, rails, bottom profile come alive here.
It was like taking a performance enhancing drug.
Even with limited experience, this is the best board I’ve surfed.
Next is to surf outside breaks that connect to the inside. Rides that last 70+ seconds.”
The Connector is a glider that turns, simple as that. You can trim high and have all the advantages, while still being able to use your rails. This shape will have you making sections you didn’t think were possible.
Ready to go!
The latest run of custom orders are shaped and waiting to be glassed. Got some pretty cool colors in this batch, can’t wait to get these boards to their new owners on the next delivery trip.
See you in February! 🌊
The latest batch of fresh boards and their new owners!
Jeff Mora is totally stoked on his blue and white 10’6” Connector! He’s definitely going to get a lot of waves on this board.
Andy Meyerpeter with the yellow tint 9’6” Easy Rider pintail. He sent an enthusiastic message after his first session on how the board rides: “best board ever, turns on a dime, feels like butter“ not a a direct quote but close enough
James Starmer with the Red 10’ RON (Regular Old Noserider). He is pumped, and can’t wait to get it in the water.
Lastly but certainly not least, Benek Robertson on the orange 9’6” Easy Rider! What a great color combination, kind of like a creamsicle.
Couple more to come on this trip!
I recently had the pleasure of shaping a beautiful 5’10” Carver for my friend Mary-Ann Bowcott, also known as the amazing @the_ladyplumber 🚰💪🏼
She’s going to love this model for its speed and ability to turn at will. The outline of the board is streamlined, yet it has enough volume to get around easily in the line up and catch plenty of waves. A slight vee and double barrel concave in the tail along with the MJ Flex Fin really makes it accelerate down the line.
If turning hard and going fast with lots of drive sounds like something you would enjoy, check out the Carver. It might be the “right stuff” for you!
