SAVE THE DATE As part of the Berlin-wide initiative @draussenstadt , the Department of Culture of the Bezirksamt Neukölln is organizing a festival around the Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch from August 19 to 21, 2022. Over the course of three days artists and artists’ collectives will present sound, dance and movement performances, a jam session and an interactive theater performance. The starting point for the festival is the location itself: the gallery, which is located under the Wildenbruch Bridge, has always been a space on the threshold, a place of “in-between”. The historic toilet facility was exposed to decay for decades and thus became an urban canvas for the surrounding creative scene. The projects are take a balancing act and react to this special place in multiple ways – on the threshold of up and down, above the gallery, on the bridge as well as along the former dock on the canal. Typeface: Maxi Round by @abcdinamo 베를린 노이쾰른 구청에서 주관한 페스티벌 ≫Verhülltes entdecken!≪ 을 위한 포스터, 플라이어를 디자인했습니다. 페스티벌은 코로나19로 인해 연기되었습니다. 📍Festival im öffentlichen Raum Keine Livestreams, gefilmten Dokumentation, virtuellen Räume oder digitalen Formate – stattdessen möchten wir die aktuellen pandemiebedingten Herausforderungen in Möglichkeiten der Teilhabe verwandeln und mit dem Festival „Verhülltes entdecken!“ weiterhin einen Zugang zu Kunst und Kultur ermöglichen – nicht drinnen, nicht online – sondern draußen in Neukölln! Neun ganz unterschiedliche, teils partizipative Kunstprojekte beschäftigen sich im Freien an verschiedenen Orten nicht nur mit den aktuellen Veränderungen in unserer Gesellschaft und unseren Gefühlen und Emotionen, sondern setzen sich auch mit dem Enthüllen von verdeckter oder vergessener Geschichte auseinander. Darüber hinaus kommen gesellschaftlich relevante Themen, welche durch das omnipräsente Thema der letzten Monate verdeckt wurden, wieder zum Vorschein.

After an inspiring workshop held over two weeks this past January, we’re excited to share the final opera posters for Handel’s Rinaldo and Verdi’s Falstaff. Working with students from the Visual Communication department at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin @weissenseevk and the Scenography department at the Hochschule für Musik, we explored the emotional and dramatic aspects of these operas through typography. From conflict to humor, we aimed to capture the essence of each opera in a visual symphony—without using any images! It was a real pleasure to lead this workshop and collaborate with such talented students. This project was part of the Typography and Graphic Design course in the Winter Semester 2024/25 at Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin. Throwback to „RE-CONNECT. Art and Struggle in the Brotherland,“ awarded Exhibition of the Year 2023 by AICA Germany. The exhibition highlighted the often-overlooked stories of contract workers, students, and artists from socialist sister countries of the DDR. Special recognition goes to the curatorial team, led by Sithara Weeratunga, for bringing these important themes into an art museum.
