Feel like cuddling? Cuddling is our first form of communication. Even before wecan speak or make eye contact, we perceive ourselves and others through our bodies – through touch, warmth and closeness. This physical awareness is embodied in Alexandra Börner’s Softie Hills. 🦑⛰️ Since Museum Night, these tactile objects have been adding a new dimension to the museum spaces, looking like soft, otherworldly creatures. The real highlight: Although visitorsare not usually permitted to touch anything in the museum, you can cuddle them and interact with them. These seatingareas are places where you can view art in peace, chat or takea short break. 😌 There are four Softie Hills waiting to be discovered. Can you spot, in the carousel post, where they are located in our collection area?🔎 - Kommst du kuscheln? Kuscheln ist unsere erste Form der Kommunikation. Noch bevor wir sprechen können oder überhaupt Blickkontakt haben, nehmen wir uns und andere über den Körper, über Druck, Wärme und Nähe wahr. Aquatint – In Goya’s Footsteps In collaboration with the Museum of the Printing Arts Leipzig (MfD), you have the opportunity to take part in a three-day course, which includes an artistic and historical introduction to the aquatint printing technique. The course will focus on the work of the artist Francisco de Goya, which is currently on display at the MdbK in the GRAFIK IM FOKUS exhibition. 🎨 On 15 May, curator Dr Jeannette Stoschek will guide you through the exhibition. Afterwards, you will have the unique opportunity to examine historical works created using the aquatint technique under a light boxin our studio. Over the following days, participants will have time at the MfD to bring their own ideas to life through intaglio printing. ℹ️ The course is open to those aged 18 and over and no prior knowledge is required. A breath of fresh air on the third floor🥳 The opening night of BILDERKOSMOS 3 the day before yesterday was a truly colourful affair. You were captivated by the paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs, and spent plenty of time strolling through the impressive 1,000 m² exhibition space.
