•
It grows, it transforms, it breaks down.
It is a place of offering.
It’s about connection to food—and the rituals around it.
The pace we eat at. The materials we touch. The way we gather.
A quiet collaboration between matter, and those who take part.
• I'm drawn to the idea of what objects might do for us on another level, something less obvious but deeply felt..objects that feel like portals, vessels of offerings, or sites of pause..

EX TERRA
Daniele Giannetti × Heiter X
MILAN DESIGN WEEK
20–26 April 2026
Alcova — Baggio Military Hospital — Stecca S14
A shared presentation exploring terracotta, mineral composites, and elemental form.
Two distinct practices brought into dialogue through material, weight, and gesture — where objects move between sculpture, function, and spatial presence.
Set within the raw architecture of the former military hospital, the works respond to the site through texture, density, and silence. Clay, lime, and composite matter holding traces of process, time, and transformation.

EX TERRA brings together the works of Daniele Giannetti and Heiter X in a shared environment shaped by material, intuition, and presence. Set within a restrained black palette and interwoven with living plants, the installation forms a quiet landscape where matter, form, and life coexist.

The installation unfolds as a conversation forming a quiet system of tension.

Fossora (Latin: “she who digs”) explores material as memory and excavation. Hand-sculpted from hempcrete, foam glass, clay, lime, and buckwheat shells, each piece acts as both vessel and spatial anchor, emphasising weight, texture, and presence.
The works are not developed as sound pieces themselves, but form the basis for scores by sound artist Martyn Riley. Each piece informs a distinct composition derived from its form and structure.
