Working with @natalieportman on Lady In Lake was everything you want a great job to be! An incredible actress, she was willing to go the extra mile and sit in the chair for being made up as being younger, older, dead, fantasy makeup, falling apart , bloody, dirty and in period spanning 30 years! I have been bombarded w questions about Shosanna’s lips since @lisaeldridgemakeup posted her Iconic reel 💋 The color is Russian Red from @maccosmetics
I did not pick the color because it was popular at the time but because it was right for the period and our story. And it looked equally as good on Melanie Laurent and @dianekruger
The Props Dept had also asked me to fill the old lipsticks with new color as Shosanna was to apply it on screen and Diane was to have one in her purse when she was in the Tavern. The lipsticks back then were quite a bit smaller and when I shaved them down, it was kind if wonky when they were applying. I contacted @observanttraveller who was with Mac at the time and she got Mac to make a tray with the smaller size for us!!! How amazing is that!!! Thank you Shelley, Mac and @musiclady70 for always supporting me 💋❤️
