The greatest luck of my life was being born to my mother. She is the most thoughtful, caring, interesting, talented, generous, funny and fun person I know. Happy Mother’s Day to her and to all the incredible mothers out there! Also couldn’t imagine a better way to spend the day than at the Grand Palais exhibition of Hilma af Klimt, the mother of abstraction, spiritualism and the occult! If you’re in Paris it’s a must-see.

This month’s book pick is one that’s close to my heart. Lena Dunham’s latest memoir, Famesick, is hilarious, raw, and deeply human, and she happens to be a writer I’ve loved for a long time and someone I am lucky enough to call a dear friend. Thank you @lenadunham for your brilliant words. I couldn’t recommend this read more, I can’t wait to hear what you all think 🤍

Spring has finally arrived, and with it, our April book pick, The Roots of Heaven (Les racines du ciel) by Romain Gary. A big thank you to Mariane for this beauitful book! Winner of the Prix Goncourt in 1956 and often called one of the first ecological novels, Gary tells the story of Morel, an idealist in French Equatorial Africa fighting to protect elephants from extinction. It’s a novel about what we choose to protect, and what that choice says about our humanity. As the days grow longer and summer approaches, it felt like the perfect moment to celebrate the animals in our lives and the earth we share with them. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts 💛
