Lately I’ve been thinking about distance. How memory, landscape, and longing blur together over time. Quieter living has taught me to pay attention to the curve of a horizon line or a subtle shift in light. I’m excited to invite you to my solo exhibition opening next week @berggruengallery in San Francisco. “Blue Distance” opens Thursday January 15, 5-7 pm. All are welcome.  📸 @brandonharman

It’s the final week to view my solo show @alminerech in Tribeca, NY. As the exhibition closes and the year winds down, I wanted to say thanks to friends, galleries, collectors, art advisors, and family for the support. I’m grateful that I get to do what I love for a living and that privilege isn’t lost on me. Excited for what’s ahead, but first a little time off on the Oregon coast ❤️

My solo exhibition “Sinuous Bodies” opens this Saturday 5-7pm @thepitla in Los Angeles. The opening is free and open to the public. I hope to see you there ❤️ The devastation caused by the LA fires is heartbreaking— many friends and peers in the community have lost so much. Opening the show gives me mixed feelings but my hope is that the gathering can offer a small moment of solace and peace during a difficult time. Thank you for the privilege of sharing this work with you. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to LA residents affected by the wildfires, especially those still awaiting the help they need. Inquiries: [email protected]

“Winnowing Wind” will be on view @thearmoryshow in New York this weekend, courtesy of @berggruengallery 🌱 booth 213 The title is loosely inspired by the old meaning of “Winnowing”, to blow a current of air through grain in order to remove the chaff. Wind is a dominant natural force in the desert, something that signals the changing of seasons, cleans and cools the air, or quickly covers footprints in the sand. I think a lot about the sound wind makes sweeping across the desert, rustling and twisting the branches of the scrub brush. The painting itself has a composition that moves inward, almost a gravity to the central channel with dense strips of adjoining color, flanked by increasingly wider openings on the sides
