It’s official! I’m back for @upfest - I know, I know I’ve already kind of done one, but I’ll be painting a gorgeous little spot on North Street on May 28th - please come say hiii. 🫶

ART OF PROTEST, ACOMB FEST AND RARE COLLECTIVE PRESENTS… HAZARD ONE The next on the line up for our paint jam curated by the fabulous @_rarecollective_ could be no other than @hazard0ne Recognised as one of the top 5 female graffiti artists in the UK[The Guardian] and the Top 25 women in street art worldwide[The Huffington Post] Harriet Wood aka HazardOne is coming back to her home town of York for the return to nature. Her style combines rich colour pallets with illumination and modern-age glitch effects to create unbelievable artwork. From a residency in Barcelona, 7-storey self directed mural project funded by the Arts Council, a community project on the Arizona-Mexico border, British Embassy Berlin to the 79th Floor of 3 World Trade Centre, New York and cultural projects for the British Council in Brazil and Colombia - Her work takes her all over the planet! About the paint jam; The legends at rare collective ( @sola_artofstreet @sharonmcdonagh_artist ) have curated a paint jam where 9 artists will be live painting for the public to see in support of @sashyorks (youth homelessness charity). The jam will have a festival feel with live painting, djs and producers performing live sets, merch stands and more. The free event will be hosted at the Carlton tavern Sat 4th and Sun 5th July. Acomb fest is Yorkshire’s newest mural festival with a whole host of unbelievable events taking place over the weekend. Jam packed with fun activities, internationally acclaimed street artists, paint jams, more street art (of course), food, drink, live music and more. It’s going to be one to remember! Here he is! My finished piece for @upfest at Quakers Art Lane @cabotcircus celebrating Sir @davidattenborough 100th birthday at the end of the week! This piece is based on a stunning snap by Bristolian photographer @guthrieobrien with some colour blends and glitches! Sir David has a close working relationship with the city of Bristol with the @bbc Natural History Unit being based here producing some of the worlds best loved wildlife programmes! This mural is one of five new murals by @inkiegraffiti , @mydogsighs @melo.grafic and @insane51 in this space so make sure you pop down to have a look!

Quakers Art Lane is almost complete and who better to fill the final spot than national treasure Sir David Attenborough, painted by @hazard0ne ! In honour of David’s 100th birthday, this mural is based on an original photograph by Bristol photographer, @guthrieobrien … but with a signature HazardOne twist! Transformation Toilet Block complete! ✅ This week I headed back to Swindon town centre to rejuvenate the toilet block on Fleming Way. We decided to go big and bold making the space pop with the original large mural design as a wrap (hand-painted though!) around the building. The large wall was Phase 1 of the mural artwork I’ve created for @swindonboroughcouncil which was completed just over a year ago. I also did a little bit of maintenance on the other artwork I’ve created across Swindon although I’m pleased to say it’s all lasted really nicely, had SO many positive comments and thank yous from locals. It’s really appreciated and testament to how public art can brighten, transform and uplift a built environment. 🥳 Even managed to sneak a dinner in with some wonderful friends - it’s been lovely to be back!

I think I’ve just about got over the sea-legs from this job so I want to do another one! Having friends all over the world is the most incredible feeling. Costa Rica 🇨🇷- unbelievable to revisit Cahuita with its beautiful Caribbean vibe @keep.it.colourful we’ve found our place!! @armstrong.monika & Craig what an absolute pleasure to meet you both, can’t wait to see you in Portugal. Next up, CDMX 🇲🇽 - arrived with food poisoning, left in love with the place 😂 it’s beyond wonderful planning to see one brother @towo_towo_towo , but getting the full TWO what an incredible surprise. I genuinely thought I was hallucinating from the food poisoning, thanks Nick. 🙃🤣 Then onward to winter 🇺🇸 to look after the love of my life Luna 🐾 whilst my fabulous new friends @courtcam & @krosan4ever travelled. (So good to see you! 🥹) Wholesome city living, daily runs round Central Park and a boujee night out with @megoslegos & @onesimplesound I experienced the most wintery winter of my life in NYC with a 24hr city shut down before heading back to the tropical paradise Honda. I spent a few days soaking up the heat and wonderful company @lauracamila512 in Colombia 🇨🇴 , I even got to see the piece I created a couple years back for @ibanascatransforma before heading to Peru 🇵🇪 I got a few days to myself to explore the gigantic city of Lima, eating all the good food (including the Best Restaurant in the World - @mcmullion what an absolute pleasure, 5hr dinner ?! 😂) before meeting the amazing @liberarte_pisco crew and heading to Pisco & Paracas for a week of cultural immersion and mural painting. ARGH. That’s one way to beat the winter blues. Highly recommend 😁

There’s so much to post… so I’ll start with this one. The idea behind my artwork at the 5th edition of @liberarte_pisco was inspired by the incredible poet Cristina García Bravo from Paracas. Her work and words weave the fabric that is Peruvian culture and specifically the region of Pisco and its rich history and culinary connections to the land and the sea. This year’s festival theme was Sabores y Saberes - the flavours and the knowledge, so I designed an image that brought all of these elements together. An incredible week - thank you @yas_mina.zamora and team. Painting alongside such an incredible line-up of artists was such a an honour, and now I’ve got new friends from Peru, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica and Brasil. À la próxima 🫶

Being back in beautiful New York City and seeing this gal at the top of 3 @wtc has been a nice way to take in what I’ve achieved since painting her! It was the hottest July in the city, summer 2019, and there was no AC on the 79th floor, sweltering doesn’t cut it 😂🫠 I was the first artist on the floor so I got the whole space to myself whilst I painted this piece. Obviously I chose the spot that overlooks Manhattan - she’s now the background to many events, conferences and get togethers. I met someone last night who interviews a bunch of celebrities in front of this mural for her magazine! Always nice to look back on important moments especially before taking on a year that is going to look a little different to the past few… more on that after my travels! One week available in April and one week in May this year so let me know if you want me on a project ASAP! 🖤🖤🖤
