Hi if you’re new here - Hi, I’m Haylee 🤍 Brisbane bridal hair + makeup artist… CEO of glam… Mum, business owner, content creator, coffee-powered human doing her best to juggle it all. I’ve been in the wedding world for years, creating soft-glam, polished looks for brides who want to feel like themselves. When I’m not doing hair and makeup, I’m editing reels on my couch, replying to emails at odd hours, eating kids’ snacks, and trying to remember where I put my phone. This business is a huge part of my life and I’m so grateful I get to call it my job. Creativity, connection, beautiful women, beautiful moments… and a little organised chaos along the way. If you’ve made it this far — thanks for being here 🤍 #brisbanemakeupartist #brisbanehairstylist #bridalmakeup

This timeline isn’t random — it’s built from experience. After hundreds of wedding mornings, I don’t just plan for hair and makeup time. I plan for the things that quietly derail timelines if you don’t know to account for them. Some of the most common ones I build around: • someone running late or needing extra reassurance • emotional moments with parents or siblings • photographers arriving earlier than planned • dress issues, jewellery decisions, or last-minute changes • people disappearing to “quickly grab food” and not returning on time • blood sugar dips from not eating (this one affects everything) That’s why I set the timeline the way I do: – the bride is finished early, not last – there’s buffer time for real life, not panic – everyone is present when they need to be – the morning feels calm, not rushed There are so many other factors that affect how smoothly the day flows — who’s in the room, when food is eaten, how often people come and go, and how energy shifts as the morning progresses. I’ll be going much more in-depth on wedding-morning planning in future posts, because this part of the day sets the tone for everything that follows. Save this for later — I’ll be sharing more wedding-morning planning tips that most brides don’t realise they need. Paula & Lucas 🤍 These are the kinds of wedding days I’m always most drawn to; centred around people, connection, the moments that make everything feel so meaningful. One of the biggest misconceptions around wedding photography is that beautiful photos require hours away from your guests. In reality, with clear direction, thoughtful timing, and an understanding of what matters most to you, the magic can unfold naturally without missing the heart of the day. The best photos often happen when you’re fully present in it all; everything else simply falls into place. -- Photo & video: @kimberleyleephoto Ceremony venue: @tiffanysmaleny Celebrant: @lisabreretoncelebrant Violinist: @lauren_bradnam_violinist Reception venue: @sono_restaurant Pet attendant: @oscarmeetshugo

The Legaspi wedding — ceremony and cocktail hour. A ceremony full of feeling, a cocktail hour with personality, and a little nod to their favourite things—ice cream for the bride and poker tables for the groom, woven into the guest experience. And this is only part one. Wait until you see the reception. Lashes are one of those things that look easy… but can be so fiddly when you’re doing them on yourself. As a makeup artist, the biggest struggle I see is always the glue and getting the placement right on top of the lash line. I’ve been wearing the Wispies from @ardellbeauty.anz Press-On Underlashes and they’ve been such an easy option. They’re pre-glued and applied underneath your natural lashes, so there’s no waiting for glue or trying to get them sitting perfectly on top. They give that soft, lifted finish without feeling heavy, perfect for events or when you just want something a little extra. Save this for your next night out 🤍 @ardellbeauty.anz @bigwaustralia #ad #ArdellLashes #Underlashextensions #DIYlashes #Makeupartisttutorial

Outdoor weddings look effortless… but they’re actually the most unforgiving environment for your hair & makeup. And this is where most brides get caught off guard. Because what looks beautiful in a mirror… doesn’t always translate in full sun, wind, and 8+ hours of wear. Hair is usually the first thing to drop. Even the most polished styles can fall apart quickly if they’re not structured properly for movement. This is why I often guide bridesmaids away from fully down styles — not because they don’t look nice, but because they rarely hold the same finish from start to ceremony. “Glowy” skin is not the same as “dewy.” This is one of the biggest misunderstandings I see. Dewy can turn into shine very quickly outdoors, especially in Queensland heat. A controlled glow placed intentionally is what gives that fresh, radiant finish without looking oily in photos. Lighting will change everything. Overcast light is soft, diffused, and incredibly flattering. Full sun, on the other hand, creates harsh shadows, squinting, and texture that you wouldn’t normally notice. Lashes matter more than you think. Too heavy, and they can cast shadows under the eyes, especially in strong natural light. The goal is always balance: definition without heaviness. This is why outdoor bridal glam is never just about how it looks when you leave the chair… it’s about how it wears, moves, and photographs throughout the entire day. Most brides only learn this after the fact. Save this so you don’t have to. #weddingprep #bridesmaids #bridalprep Location @kooroomba_weddings

Where elegance meets timeless romance… From soft, light-filled spaces to the intimate ceremony space framed by stunning arched windows, every corner of this venue is designed to feel effortlessly beautiful. The delicate textures, flowing veil, and lush floral arrangements come together to create a setting that feels both refined and deeply personal. It’s the kind of space where every detail photographs like a dream and every moment feels elevated. The truth is, it’s often the quiet details that make the biggest impact. A perfectly placed arrangement, natural light pouring in at just the right angle, and a space that allows you to be fully present- these are the elements that turn a wedding into something truly unforgettable. This is the quickest way I’ve found to achieve a soft, seamless lash look. As a makeup artist, one of the biggest challenges my clients say with lashes is the coordination — hands, eyes, placement, technique. That’s why I love the Ardell Seamless Underlash Extensions. Because they’re applied underneath your natural lashes, the process is so much easier! If you can apply mascara, you can apply these - the bond and seal work in a very similar way. Bond → apply → seal. They give you that soft, wispy extension look, but in a way that’s easy to do yourself and suitable for more than just a one-night wear. Perfect for events where you want your lashes to last beyond the day. Save this for your next event! @ardellbeauty.anz @chemistwarehouse #ad #ArdellLashes #Underlashextensions #DIYlashes #Makeupartisttutorial

Most people think you need a round brush for a blow-dry look… but you can actually create it with a straightener. Creating a soft blow-dry look with a straightener is one of my favourite quick styling tricks. I divide the hair into three layers — curling the bottom layer inwards, the middle layer outwards, and exaggerating the top layer slightly inwards to create that soft bounce around the face. When styling, I always notice the difference when a straightener glides smoothly through the hair rather than catching or pulling. The Panasonic nanoe™ Hair Care Series Hair Straightener EH-HS0E-K765 uses nanoe™ technology which helps maintain moisture in the hair while you style, leaving the hair looking smooth, glossy and polished. Save this if you want to try this fake blow-dry trick with a straightener. #hairtutorial #fauxblowout #PanasonicWellnessClub #PanasonicSponsored
