Atlanta was a tough one, new found horsepower needs a new found setup. Unfortunately we didn't find that until Saturday. Then just when I was feeling good, our power steering locks up and sends me off. Bittersweet battle with @odidrift yesterday at @formulad @roadatlanta We had a pretty decent chase and I was ready to throw down my best lead run. Then we lost power steering momentarily at the top of the hill. Just long enough so send me wide into the dirt. Odi took the win and that was a wrap. I always thought it was an rpm issue but after looking at the @link_ecu data logs, I think its a belt wrap issue. Our power steering pump has never had the best belt wrap on the pulley. I added an idle air control valve before this round to try and fix the problem, but it turns out the rpm was never our issue. Other then that, the car feels better then ever. The @nelsonracingengines 431ci is singing with the help of @magnusonsuperchargers We changed our setup drastically from qualifying day and the car felt amazing during our last practice session. We just needed to add some grip to match the new HP numbers. We now have 325hp more then last year and with that drastic of a jump in horsepower, the setup changes needed to be drastic too. Big thanks to my team for killing it all weekend and keeping me motivated. We'll be back better then ever for Orlando in a few weeks. Really looking forward to getting behind the wheel again. We made it into the show! But just barely 🀣 We qualified 32nd and we battle @odidrift on Saturday. This car is a monster now and boy do I need to get used to it. I finally have enough power to throw a feint initiation, but I didn't have enough practice laps to nail it every time. Our first qualifying lap was rough but we got a score on the board. On our second run I transitioned too early on initiation and didn't throw the car hard enough, locked up the fronts to try and get more rotation but it didn't work lol I was so mad after that run 🀣 Then after a long and stressful wait for qualifying to finish, we made it! Very grateful for my team that sorted out the issues we had and adjusted the car to drive like I wanted. Transitioning from 725hp to 1050hp is a big jump and it's basically a whole new car now. It will take some time to get used to it. Looking forward to our battles on Saturday and some more practice time to get this car (and myself) dialed in. We joined the 1000hp club yesterday! Bittersweet because we had many issues on the dyno but we're getting that sorted out today and will be back on the dyno with @el_wero_tuned tomorrow.
