I keep fighting with life because for some reason I think I know better. It causes all this friction because my expectations never measure up to reality. “Why did it happen this way? To me or to the people I love?” As if the story isn’t ongoing. My imagination can be dangerous especially if I’m only seeing the worst possibilities. Good things can and will happen. I’ve chosen to surrender to life.

I been in my bag lately.
Today was a lovely day with @asafespacementor@soundsofspotlight . We have to go into spaces that pour into us and we have to pour back into those same spaces. It’s a “Take care of what takes care of you” kinda thing.
I’m Honored that I got a chance to share space with incredible people and co-lead a photography class around seeing the beauty in the world and ourselves. We got to work that muscle in order to see the world for what it can be instead of what it is.
When an immovable force meets an immovable object, the universe forgets which rule it wrote first.
This same thing happened when our favorite things collided.

Stopped in New Orleans(my favorite place in the US) with @campaignzero to document necessary work they are doing around celebrating 100 years of black history month. Doing this work has reminded me how important it is to keep our history alive. If we don’t tell it, someone else will in the way they see the truth. I look at these photos as a really good representation of the story I want to be told for me.
