Extremely special show on April 3 at Wyrd Hut. Fire&Flux is a duo that started in NYC circa 2004 with Ben from Halfbird and Richard Gilman-Opalsky. We had both been in many standard punk bands and then a few punk bands that explored improvisation (including in a band called Countdown to Putsch together) and then formed F&F as a punk free jazz unit. In 2006 we both left NYC. Since then we’ve played two shows together in Illinois (one recorded and released last year by Relative Pitch Records). We’re playing our first Portland show and our third show in 20 years. It would mean the world if you came out. Plus the usual shenanigans from the Social Stomach and Halfbird.
