Building on the momentum of DC Climate Week, our 2026 Global Climate cohort joined us last week in Washington, DC, where founders kicked off their Halcyon journey with a week of collaboration with peers, partners, and supporters driving progress in climate adaptation and resilience.
đ˘ We were grateful to be hosted at the AWS Skills Center in nearby Arlington for Monday's programming, spanning across interactive peer case consultations, pitch practices, and masterclasses.
âď¸ We were also hosted at Amazonâs HQ2 for an evening of investor speed networking, giving our founders the chance to pitch and engage in conversation and feedback with investors and ecosystem partners.
âď¸ Weâll be continuing to engage with this fantastic group through virtual programming before reuniting in Los Angeles in September.
Thank you to Twilio.org Impact Fund, a fund of ImpactAssets (@twilio ), and @AmazonWebServices , Inc. (AWS) for your support of the program.
Thereâs a moment most founders know: the "valley of death" between early-stage support and sustainable growth that claims a staggering number of promising ventures every year.
At Halcyon, we work with founders exactly in this momentâand weâve come to believe that the âvalley of deathâ is the wrong frame entirely.

Â
Founders also participated in Ghana Venture Capital and Private Equity Allianceâs conference, connecting them with West African investors and policymakers.

âď¸ Weâll return in-person with the fantastic founders of this program for a second residency week in Nairobi in July. Â

What does it take to build climate-resilient cities?
At our @dcclimateweek event last night, four founders shared how theyâre rethinking the built environment, from rooftop agriculture to electrification, net-zero housing, and nature-based infrastructure.
In a conversation that touched on capital strategies, finding your climate niche, and overcoming obstacles, one theme cut across it all: real impact starts with deep community engagement.
Special shoutout to Halcyon alums Larry Davis (Green Mechanics), Kristof Grina (@uptopacres ), and Jordan Taylor (@synergygrid_ ), who joined Jane Chen (@getstepwise ) on the panel, moderated by Halcyonâs Alexis Kartalian.
Thank you to the team at Up Top Acres and everyone who joined us for an evening of conversation, connection, and rooftop views.
