Please allow me to take a few moments of your time. I just want to talk about mental health a little bit. It’s been a big part of my life. As in for 29 years I’ve lived with undiagnosed ADHD, with a healthy dose of depression through most of that time. Which means I’ve more often felt like I am the problem/come with the problems all the time. There’s a good part of my life I’ve spent thinking life would be better for everyone around me if I didn’t exist. Shame & guilt just constantly eating you up. You see yourself so clearly, all your potential, everything you’re capable of, as well as all your many many flaws. Flaws? I’m not sharing any of this to garner sympathy (chances are a lot of you will skim through or ignore this anyways). If anything, post my diagnosis last year, I’ve started understanding so much more about me and my history than ever before. It’s not all flaws. It’s a brain that just worked different, at a different speed or frequency. And I’ve met so many more people I share so much in common with, and who are just now slowly understanding the need to understand themselves better. So this one’s for you. Your mind and who you were born as is important to figure out. It will 100% start slowly helping you understand your life and see yourself in a whole new more raw & honest light. Which is the first step to breaking out of this shit show cycle we feel like we’ve been living. If you’re anything like me, your own version of self awareness will have shat on you enough so far, so it’s time to change that a little bit no? Like what would life be like if we didn’t misunderstand, hate & question so much of ourselves every second? Think of it this way. You’re a video game character born with a certain set of skills pre programmed. But you know nothing about this. All you’ve known are 3 controls for punch kick and jump. No combos, no understanding of any of the other buttons you come with, and you’ve lived with blinders on so you can’t even see what all the buttons you come with are. Now that character will go through the game of life struggling at everything because they feel like they have limited options. Imagine that? (Cont. in the comments).

The past month felt like a whole lifetime 🧸

Been ignoring the world & trying to quiet the mind. Been telling it to breathe, slow down for a bit. Have also been spending a lot of this downtime on @touchdesigner 🤌 Here’s a visualizer I made for my InsHAEN remix of @bird.scapes ’s ‘Wrong Number’. Taking a little downtime post an INSANE start to 2026. I’d entered this year extremely burnt out to begin with, mental health was in shambles, and the physical health was getting there as well. Regardless, we’ve continued working, consistently doing shows (two all original sets so far as well, about 20 new tunes tested out across 5 shows), working on building InsHAEN (A collective, brand, label & space for neurodivergent artists to let loose) with my friends, etc. etc. Oh, we’ve also started learning @touchdesigner , adding more skills to the repertoire. Got to work on a new remix for my fellow ADHDeary @bird.scapes in the middle of all this as well. It was the only remix I included in the set list for the InsHAEN show because it fit all my neurodivergent criteria for the art presented at the show & also because it is one of my favorite works ever. Bird’s EP, ‘Corrode Me Slow’ is out now via French imprint @adoptbae & life comes full circle as I finally have a release with former mentor & all time inspiration @vridianmusic . I’d probably still be stuck making loops if he hadn’t helped me get my head out of my own ass to finish projects about 8 years ago. Yup, stoked to find the superb Vridian remix of Bird sitting alongside my own in this EP. This tune is a trusted friend, works everytime the dancefloor needs a little sexy groovy twist. 7,8. Haen’s ‘O.G.C.S.Y’. Think everyone hated this one (that ‘Fucking Average’ tune 🤪🤡). Always ALWAYS good to see something you’ve worked on do it’s thing 🥲 9. Slang Dome’s ‘Gaia’. So so fucking glad I got the promo for this tune & the brilliant album it’s a part of ‘A Different Kind of Elements’. Perfect end to a perfect night 🍀 10. Modern Art. I’m hooked to this iMovie cartoon filter lol (must be the fact that my “unhealthy” childhood obsession with cartoons & anime exists to this day)

Perfection isn’t the point. Expression is. Learnt a lot from doing a show like InsHAEN. Fucked around & found out. I can’t wait to fucking do it all over again. “Bro aren’t you a progressive house DJ?” - I’m an artist. It’s all music. I can make & play what I want within music. “Bro I think you’re making a little bit of a big deal about this whole neurodivergent / ADHD thing.” - Getting diagnosed has helped me understand myself, my friends, my music & my entire history as a human being so much better. I see myself, my music & everyone else in a whole new light. Through this process I’ve also started being able to ACTUALLY HELP other people understand themselves better. So no, I’d say I’m not making enough of a deal about this. I SHOULD MAKE IT A MUCH MUCH BIGGER DEAL. “Bro you can’t just do anything you like. The algorithm will influence your content (when/what you post) & people’s opinions will influence your career.” - True. Facts. But remember this. If your goal is to be an artist reaching the world with your craft, then be prepared to take on the world’s opinions in the process too. The number of people will CONSISTENTLY EXPONENTIALLY increase the more you live life as an artist, so if your goal is to reach millions then stop living your art according to the whims of the few right now. “Bro you should be detached, it’s business. Don’t take things personally & don’t react.” - Don’t react, yes agreed. Be detached, also agreed (to a certain extent). Unfortunately though, ADHD means I’m genetically pre-disposed to taking things “personally”. Also if you’re fucking with a brand/identity (aka cadmus aka dyvir5e aka zoane aka haen aka me) I’ve constantly thought about & worked on since 2013/14, then it’d be a bit ridiculous to expect me to “not take it personally” & understand that “it’s business / things like this happen all the time / the market & industry works this way.” But ofcourse, This Is The Way. It’s a freaking miracle that all you’re getting as a reaction is a cartoon reel, one DnB tune & a caption you’ll read & forget about by tomorrow. HAAAAA🤣
