Applications are now live on Builderbase, and teams can officially start forming. This year, one of our tracks introduces a challenge unlike anything typically seen at a hackathon before. PROVE, powered by SICPA Industrial components, recycled materials, critical minerals, and natural resources all depend on trust-based claims that are often difficult to verify. Where was this critical mineral mined and processed? Is this material truly made from 40% recycled content? Does this product comply with sustainability regulations? PROVE invites builders to make the invisible visible. Using physical and digital identification technologies, sensing systems, or AI, teams will develop prototypes that transform unverifiable claims into tamper-resistant proof across critical minerals, natural resources, and ethical recycling / upcycling supply chains. This challenge was co-designed with SICPA, the Swiss company that authenticates the majority of the world’s banknotes and secures supply chains in more than 20 countries. Meet the New Yorker Putting Plant-Based on the Menu in NYC’s Iconic Bodegas And also the HackSummit Menu. Nil Zacharias, Founder and CEO of @eatplantega has dedicated the past decade to promoting plant-forward eating. While the plant-based food sector gained momentum in 2020, today’s landscape presents challenges including accessibility and affordability. That’s why Nil launched plant-based menus in New York’s bodegas, which play a vital role in local food culture. Plantega’s classic deli favorites are made with plant-based ingredients with a turnkey solution for in-store and app deliveries. Now they’re scaling up with new distribution opportunities and catering initiatives to accelerate access to sustainable food options. Next up, they’ll be serving delicious plant-based deli sandwiches at the HackSummit in NYC with brand partners @eatkarana @stockeld_dreamery @fabalishfoods Abbot's and @daringfoods to showcase well-loved flavors and new combinations.
