As Milano Design Week approaches, at Gufram we are very far from bored. Yet, we let the “instant classic” of BORING CACTUS enter our spaces and minds in the project called Domestic treat: a Milanese loft all furnished with Gufram’s domestic sculptures, that discover their functional properties. Will we see it at Radical Home at Salone del Mobile, too? Come see it for yourself! Photographs by @luca.caizzi Set design by @jessica.zorzin and @beatriceisabellabonetto

DO NOT JUDGE A POUF BY ITS SPIKES! Gufram is proud to present FACHIRO, a groundbreaking new seat that will be on display at Salone del Mobile in April. It was 1975 when, still an architecture student, Marzio Cecchi designed FACHIRO. This seat reveals its comfort only when you sit down. They often advise not to judge a book by its cover; so, Gufram advises not to judge an armchair by its spikes. Like Gufram’s domestic and functional sculptures, Fachiro - coming in an exclusive limited edition - challenges perception: thanks to a workmanship that leaves nothing to chance, every spike guarantees the softened and lightness of a faux leather upholstered pouf.

RADICAL HOME From April 21st to 26th Hall 22P, booth B30 Salone del Mobile, Milano What happens when Italian Radical Design, the radical design group par excellence, takes over the space to showcase its own vision of the home? Gufram, Memphis, and Meritalia® - brought together for the first time - tear away the veil of theory and put radical living into practice. Gufram’s pop domestic sculptures, Memphis Milano’s decorative revolutions, Meritalia®’s material experiments: what better furniture for the radical home? Italian Radical Design raises walls to welcome a kaleidoscope of creativity, from groundbreaking innovations to milestones in the history of Italian design. Not an insuperable boundary, but a safe haven for a new kind of furniture, one that generates truly original combinations and opens—literally—the door to a new concept of home, where even everyday objects can be extraordinary.

Mano by Cinzia Ruggeri is an open hand standing on itself, to be interpreted as an intimidation to stop, an informal salute; or, if placed horizontally, as a tentacular chair. In A domestic treat by Gufram, this unique piece blends functionality and irrationality in a modern Milanese loft.
