As always, I wanted to let this film sit in the hands of its people for a bit before sharing here - but even in rewatching it now, I’m reminded of what a gift it is to be let into the most treasured of days. Jessie and Sean’s union was an emotional, fun, intimate, and all together lovely affair. Made even more so by working alongside some truly amazing humans, namely my bestie gal @halcyonweddings as well as the ever talented @hyssop.floral and @amycarrollphotography 🤎
Northern Michigan will always be my favorite backdrop for a wedding.

lotssss of editing behind the scenes here at granger creative headquarters (aka my tiny back office at home) and getting so stoked to document more stories this year — starting this Saturday!! 🌹
There’s so many sacred moments I’ve documented that I’ve yet to share in this space, so I figured it was about time to post this one. An intimate day with Michaela and Spencer, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Michaela got ready at her parents’ home and they said I do in a meaningful ceremony, before gathering at the table for a meal with their loved ones. The celebration took place in Birmingham, an especially meaningful place because they’ve built a life together there. We walked the streets of the city they call home and they pointed out their favorite pizza place to me, jazz music in the background and locals yelling out congratulations.
It’s these kinds of days I love to document. Of course, Michaela and Spencer’s vision and details were remarkable. But more than that, it was their careful curation of a day that fit them - a day that disregarded expectations and focused their own priorities for celebrating their union.
Whatever it is you want to feel, do, be, experience for the start of your marriage - do that, savor that, prioritize that. It’s worth it. 🤍

I am so stoked to share that we welcomed our daughter Juniper (June for short) into the world last Tuesday, September 5 🕊️ We are adjusting to life with our growing family, grateful to be home and healthy.
A few practical notes :)
- If you’re a past couple who hasn’t received their film yet, thank you for your patience and grace! I will be returning to editing next month after taking some time to soak in this season.
- If you’re a future couple with associate filmmakers shooting your wedding, and you need anything urgently, don’t hesitate to reach out! That said, you’re all in great hands. I’m so grateful for the team and community around me to document your special days.
- If you’re an interested couple for 2024, expect a delay after inquiring. I’m checking email periodically and also seeking to be present with my babe. That said, I’d love to hear from you - video consultations will resume in October in a limited schedule, so still reach out and we can get something in the books!
Thank you all for your patience and grace as I navigate this new world of motherhood, give my body and mind space to heal, and aim to get space from my work. I am looking forward to coming back to my work renewed, to document your own life’s milestones - and what an honor that is.
Back in June I had the privilege of filming at @thepinetreebarn , where Barrett and I said our own “I do’s” over four years ago. Being back while expectant with our first babe, four years into my own marriage story and much growth as a filmmaker since then was incredibly special. The day was whimsical and lovely and true, because that’s who @emma_jean_eastlund + @nic.eastlund are. And getting my super8 scans from @pro8mm brought me right back. 🕊️
