Fri 22 May: Zeynep Toraman (tr/de) + Tzu NI (tw/nl) Zeynep Toraman is a composer and scholar from Istanbul, Turkey, living and working in Berlin, Germany. Her practice-based research explores the ways in which texts (in the broadest sense of this word) can interact with one another within the larger framework of musical compositions, by way of thinking of her own library as an archive, and enfolding autobiography, poetry, fiction and history within her works. Past and recent collaborators include Contrechamps, Ensemble Proton, Saviet/Houston Duo, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Quatuor Diotima, Distractfold Ensemble, and the Wet Ink Ensemble. Her music has been performed at festivals such as Festival Archipel (Geneva, CH), Sonic Matter (Zurich, CH), IRCAM ManiFeste (Paris, FR) and Wet Ink Large Ensemble Readings (New York, NY). Her research has been supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). She has released music with Obscure & Terrible, Sawyer Editions, Superpang, and Speckled Toshe and she collaborates closely with filmmaker Burak Çevik, and has written the music for Forms of Forgetting (2023) and The Weary Hours of Two Lab Assistants (2026). / / Tzu Ni (tw/nl) is a Taiwanese artist currently based in the Netherlands. She believes in the flexibility of human bodies and views the intersection of technology and humanity as a sweet spot, seeking the balance between institutional and non-institutional contexts. Her practice explores the entangled relationship between sound, gender, and space, often through multichannel sonic installations, field recordings, and text‑based narratives that emerge from subconscious memory. Sunday 19 April, 20:00 MAYA BENNARDO (us/sw) + MEGAN ALICE CLUNE (aus) Maya Bennardo is an active performer and composer living in Stockholm, Sweden. Maya is interested in opening the dialogue and blurring the boundaries between composers and performers, and is devoted to performing music of the present. Her first solo record, ‘four strings’ with music by Eva-Maria Houben and Kristofer Svensson was released on the kuyin label, September 2022 (named as one of The Best of Contemporary Classical 2022 on Bandcamp and one of Steve Smith’s 22 for ‘22). The album is a continuation of Bennardo’s work exploring sonic fragility and temporal stasis on the violin. For his performances, he carefully and secretly prepares the concert space in advance with quasi-magic tricks, playful surprises, and a bucketful of absent sounds—setting the stage for a music that exists somewhere between miniature object theater, musical improvisation, and collective listening exercise, always marked by a simplicity of means and a deep sense of community. .
