If the universe is a body, resonance is fascia: a great web that holds, supports, and connects all things. We often talk about breath as the great connector, the practice shared by all, but resonance moves within the breath, through our bodies, and in the spaces between. Sound is breath made bigger, more tangible, more obvious.  To me, the physical experience of sound is one of the quickest ways to {re}connect mind, body, and spirit - which we all could maybe use right about now. ‘Om’ is a great, cosmic Yes, an echo of the first and everlasting sound. We’re sharing some simple Om-centered practices, to help you remember (in mind, body, and spirit) this resounding web of support. More on the blog and on YouTube (youtube.com/@pulseyogacollective ), and more to come, fam. We’re in this together 💓

take yoga practices to faraway places to see the world more clearly - more completely - through the lens of connection. sights and sensations and vibrations of place move through with your breath and leave traces. practice (a morning walk, a late-night stretch, a subway meditation…) helps to integrate these physical memories into who you are and how you move through the world. the world is so vast and our eyes are so tiny. recruit your whole being into the seeing and you can connect to a broader view. (you don’t have to make a pretty shape in a pretty place to do that, but maybe it helps jog the memory 😉) #pycretreats #whatwereabout

in communities across the country and the world, people are moving with hope and purpose toward a tomorrow they are ready to build with their own hands — and this is yoga! born as a radical movement, yoga is not just “love and light” and “good vibes only.” yoga is a practice of {action}. the way we move in practice *is practice* for the way we move in the world. so hey, let’s move on purpose, together. 💓 maybe that looks like marching in the streets; teaching and learning; gathering in community; feeding people; making art and experiences that amplify beauty and remind us we’re connected… whatever we do, let’s double down on the practices that nourish, sustain, and drive us forward. now is the time. check the 🔗s up top to move with us this year. there is space here for you. love, pyc #whatwereabout #wordoftheyear #alignedaction

three things about 2016. (1) this was the year when yoga and instagram collided big time; public displays of asana (thx for this term @greta_hill ) were the norm; seen here in an austin crosswalk, pacific northwest ballet, an arlington barn, and a chateau in france. speaking of which, (2) jack and i spent a week in a castle in france with @heysaintzina then visited marseille for two days and now we live here 🫠. and (3) @thesullivanagency created my favorite gif of all time.

why go deeper than poses? there’s just so. much. more. tools for living, for liberation, tools for the moment we’re in. a deep well of wisdom and support, all here for us, waiting. not to mention counteracting the harm done by ignoring - erasing, even - the root culture, the rich history and philosophy at the heart of this practice. and also, don’t you want to know? every time you hear “there’s more to yoga than postures” aren’t you curious?? if you are, you’re ready. dive in because you can. dive in because it’s time. dive in and see what’s next. there is space here for you. 💓 (but only for a few more weeks! school starts february 21. dive into our bio 🔗 to find out more)

recap part two: 2025 in instax, maybe my favorite part of the turning of the year 💚 a year of contrast, of bright sun and deep shadows (and far more portraits than ever before). 2025, back to front, as told by my Rolleiflex TL70 (and me).

tldr: this is a silly thing i’m doing, just for me really. a year-end rumination for the record. what is this square anyway, anymore, but an archive? // i ducked into a coffee shop to escape the cold and then found that the seating area, upstairs and hidden from the door, was entirely covered in mirrors. um yikes, non merci! but i’ve already ordered so, i guess it’s time for a year-end meeting with myself. // i’ve had a hard time reconciling all the storylines, all the very different aspects of life and living in this time, into a cohesive narrative of a year. my therapist suggested looking through the year in photos *of myself* which like sitting in a room of mirrors, i wasn’t super stoked on… so hey, why not do both at the same time? 🫠 i’m glad i did. i’m glad i saw myself as i was in this year, through the lens of people who really see me and love me anyway (myself included). i think i am letting myself be seen more than before. i think i am letting myself be myself more than before. i think these are good things. i think probably this year was good for me, though it doesn’t always feel that way. maybe that’s why i wanted to put these here, out of order like the way time passes in a dream, but some kind of official record, proof of life and living. for the next time i forget.

a few more morsels from Japan, because nothing gives me more hope for the world than intentional people living intentionally connective, generously beautiful lives (enter: @mirukashisalon ) // under the snow moon, we were welcomed into Mirukashi Salon which felt a little like a dinner party at your coolest aunts’ house crossed with an interactive art installation — an irresistible invitation to co-create a moment of beauty. we were welcomed as friends and spent the next two days in the generous company of Prairie and Hanako — there was sushi-making, a cliffside picnic and shared matcha by the sea, and a tea-tasting in tea fields; we were mesmerized watching @monohanako ‘s pottery come to life, and equally by the steady presence of a 3,000 year old camphor tree — immersed in the wild beauty of Karatsu and in the life of deep presence and attunement that these women have built. every moment was a gift, without exaggeration. my heart will be busy thanking @mirukashisalon @boutiquejapan and @heysaintzina for a very long time. 💚

kyoto, where i first felt japan as a soul home, only resonated more deeply the second time around. the insistence on beauty as an essential nutrient, and on the sacred potential - and potential for the sacred - in every moment. the everyday aliveness of a place so fully itself. i guess in the same way that kyoto assures me i’m not crazy for valuing what i value and living the way i live, it asks me to be more fully myself, more fully alive. but then, that’s a soul home for you. // thank you @heysaintzina and @boutiquejapan for the unparalleled access and insight and deep joy and care. what a dream team. 🙏🏻💚
