Late post but still so happy I got to play the icon, Edie Baskin in @satnightmovie 💛 she was the photographer of SNL for 25 years and was behind so much of the show’s art direction and captured hundreds of legendary actors, musicians, and performances over the course of her incredible career. As an actress and photographer myself, it was an honor to get to play her and know her ❤️ @baskinstudios
Since January is #humantraffickingawarenessmonth I wanted to highlight an amazing company that is doing its part to fight exploitation and provide job opportunities to woman with a fair wage and treating them with dignity and care.
It’s no secret that sex trafficking and labor trafficking are at an all time high. The fashion industry is built upon the mass exploitation of those who work within its supply chains. Many turn to these jobs in order to escape the horror and heartbreak of sexual exploitation and end up being exploited by fast fashion and other large corporations.
But there are companies you can give to that are making an impact. @elegantees is one of them doing incredible work in Nepal and if you care how your clothes are being made and the women that create them, I’d highly recommend checking them out! Plus, @eleganteesfounder is such a gem 💖 to learn more about Elegantees, go to the link in my bio!
More memories from last year ✨ In November, I had the privilege of getting to attend @ediebaskin ’s launch of her new book in LA with @laurelnotlauren ! It was so special getting to celebrate her incredible work and artistic career of capturing SNL and so many iconic artists throughout the years. Still one of my favorite film memories was getting to play her in @satnightmovie ❤️
If you love art, SNL, or dynamic images of iconic people, check out her beautiful book 💕
