*** Moth To A Flame - out now
This is the last single before my upcoming EP, Light In A Jar. I wanted to let you into my head a little bit with this one. I made this EP in a messy quest to figure out who I was.
I pictured it like each of us has a light inside us, but when I was struggling with my faith, mine felt like it had gone out. I was searching for that light everywhere, drawn towards anything that seemed shiny. That’s where ‘Moth To A Flame’ came from: craving approval, attention and love.
This song opens the EP from that place, and the record becomes a journey towards realising the light was always within me. That sense of worth and identity which, for me, comes from my faith.
I hope you can go on a journey with me through these songs. You’ll probably hear all my flaws in them, which is scary to reveal. But I think we’re all imperfect people just trying to learn how to love, so maybe you’ll find a piece of yourself in them too.
So, here it goes. ‘Moth To A Flame’ is out now. The full EP will be with you on 19th June.

New song this Friday… Moth To A Flame. Let me take you to the spot I wrote it. Under my bed, journal scribbles, demo set up. I had the echoes of U2 at the Sphere ringing in my ears. I wanted to make a song that would fill a stadium. I was dreaming big!
I spent a lot of time back then in a painful daydream. Half living, half escaping into a world inside my mind I was trying to make sense of.
My imagination can take more of my attention than the moment sometimes. The fears, the dreams, the anger, the longing, the humour…
‘Oh it pulls me away, like a moth to a flame’

You know that person who’s a whole lot of fun but leads you on. Maybe we’ve been them or met them or both. I was putting myself in their shoes when I wrote this one. Anddd it still makes me want to dance.
