Can’t believe it’s been a whole week since I was in Austin, TX for my annual trip to @cropcons . This year was extra special because they were celebrating their 10th anniversary 🤠
Should’ve had this post up days ago but better late than never. Still buzzing from all the good times that were had. Too many friends old and new to tag but thank you to everyone that comes to this conference. Just know you are family 🤘
A special shoutout to Matt @staygrayponyboy and his team for bringing us together every year. I personally always take away so much as well as get the opportunity to fill my creative cup each time. This was my 5th time attending and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
This post contains some of my top moments from the shenanigans but if you want to see more check out my story highlights at the top of my profile titled CROP 2026
Until next year! Stay Weird,

🏡 4-3-2026 🏡
A really GOOD Friday. Couple months of paperwork, emails, calls, and a few tears but our prayers were answered.
Secured the keys to our first house. Time to build a home 💙.
Te amo mi sol 😘☀️
Happy Super Sunday for all my NFL fans 🏈
Wanted to make a little poster design to tribute my favorite part of the game (unless the Lions get there and win of course). This year’s halftime show headliner is @badbunnypr and hosted out near San Francisco.
I was super excited when this got announced despite the online controversy around the choice. A huge thanks to my girlfriend @dialecmc for expanding my musical taste and turning me into a fan although my Spanish is weak at best for now. Te amo mi sol 😘☀️. Video of when we saw his concert here in Detroit a few years back as well just so you guys get the vibe 🎫
Fast forward to today and Benito has won the Grammy for Album of the Year. That is despite the current climate in the US around Latin Americans especially. Facts are facts and he is the current biggest artist globally. Good on the league for standing by their decision. It speaks volumes for sure 🤘
Affectionately online this game has been referred to as “Benito Bowl” which I felt was the perfect title! As far as the design is concerned I wanted to bring Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 to the Bay 🌉 with all the little references . Swipe through to see all of those 👉
Finally for anyone who cares, go Seahawks!
It’s time for another Workflow Wednesday!
Been a little bit since I had a second to talk to camera. Life’s been a blur but feeling good thankfully. Hope to share more here really soon 🤘
In this episode I talk about deadlines/having a deadline mentality. This is crucial to getting my projects done as I always tend to wait until the last minute. Beyond stressful and looking to change that over the year.
Just a reminder I want this show to be a way for me to connect with you! So if you have any tips on workflow that you want to share drop a comment so it can be featured in a future episode 👇
Welcome to a Workflow Wednesday! A new micro-series where I attempt to get more comfortable on camera while sharing tips on how to improve your workflow as a creative.
In this episode I go over in more detail what this show is, give my first tip focused on time management, and ask my community for your own workflow tips to share in the comments. Could be anything and if I also think it’s good I’ll be sure to feature it in a future episode. Of course no pressure 😂
Want to try and keep these short as it makes them easier to edit/post whenever I feel my feed is getting too stale. A fun new challenge until I bring the podcast back again.
So happy hump day! Looking forward to hearing what you have to say down in the comments 👇
TL;DR
Happy New Year! I’m back and want to be more consistent with posting this year. Including art, short form videos, and the podcast. Aiming for a few times a month right now. Need to be more relevant to get hired in a full time position and start taking on clients. Read more below 👇

A few days in but a Happy New Year to you all! Wanted to start off the right way by looking back at years past and the plans I have to make 2026 my best year yet in terms of being a creative.
🥇 First things first it is very clear that I have not made becoming a full time illustrator and designer a priority in my life. For those that don’t know I graduated from college in 2020. Still I have not gotten any real opportunity for industry experience. That is my fault for not putting more effort in as I sit year almost 6 years later. Plain and simple I have failed to stay relevant. This year I have plans to change that.
🥈 The biggest lesson I have learned since branding myself as Gorbstrator is that consistent content is the key. So I started tracking the volume of posts along with the types of posts. Every year those numbers have diminished. This led me to some questions I constantly ask myself:
How do I continue to develop my skills as a creative without making work?
Without work how can I create interesting content worth posting?
If I don’t post content then where can I engage with fans or potential clients?
🥉 Hope is not a strategy. Without work there is no content, without content there is no clients, and without clients there is no hope for me to become a professional that makes a living creating. That is why I am determined to make 2026 the year of turning dreams into plans. Small changes for big results! As busy as my schedule is right now I feel I can still get a few posts up a month across all my social media. It will be a mix of static art and some more short form video stuff. The other big thing I want to bring back is my podcast The Gorboratory. Still working out the details on how best to do that so stay tuned for updates there.
Best wishes and a Happy New Year,
-Gorb
🚨 New website and projects for Gorbstrator now live 🚨
A lot of hard work to get it all set for you and still some things I want to add. But that will be for another day and another post 👍
Proud of myself for pushing through and getting this done 💪
Leave a comment with some feedback and go check it out 🙏
LINK IN BIO!
Quick little process on me writing my about section for LinkedIn and my website. Started in notes but moved to ChatGPT to clean it up.
Excited to get more into LinkedIn. Look me up at my name Alex Godziszewski so we can connect!
I’m back and want to kick off the new year with a little reintroduction to myself for anyone new or old. (Thank you to my amazingly talented GF for the 📷: @molinad.jpeg 💜)
🤘Welcome to the show! My name is Alex “Gorb” Godziszewski an Illustrator & Designer under the name Gorbstrator. I was born, raised, and currently live in Detroit, MI. Inspired by music I create work that aims to help you escape from life for a while, similar to when you attend a concert. My style is bold, colorful, has texture, and always has a deeper story to explore! Now a couple of fun things:
💥 Things to Know About Me 💥
1. 📻 Being inspired by music I also love to collect records, go to shows, and discover new artists. Favorite as of right now has to be Marcus King and his newest album Mood Swings.
2. 🏎️ Growing up in the Motor City, car culture has been a big part of my life. Also helps that my father has been a mechanic his entire life so naturally we bonded over many hours in the garage.
3. 🎮 I’ve been a gamer for as long as I could hold a controller. Xbox is my system of choice and I love FPS, Open World RPGs, and racing games.
4. 🎙️Near the end of 2024 I launched my first podcast called The Gorboratory. In the episodes I cover things going on in my life, design work, any music I’ve been listening to, and other various topics.
5. 🙋♂️ My nickname “Gorb” came from my friends when they would mispronounce my very Polish last name. Wish there was a cooler story but at least I built my whole brand around it!
Keep it tuned in here as I will be more active then ever with posting new work and sharing updates with me as they happen. For now I want to get to know you so sound off in the comments below 👇
The Gorboratory Ep. 4: Where have I been at? A recap of 2024 (good & bad). Also some early plans for next year 🤘
Short and sweet. Hope you all are having a good holiday season. Cheers to 2025!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥳

The Gorboratory Ep. 3: Another full episode here. Couple of new projects, website updates, and as always music I’ve been listening to for the month!
