For 50 years Corky Lee tirelessly documented the celebrations, struggles and daily lives of the AAPI community. This film serves as a tribute and testament to the importance of his life’s work. The screening will be followed by an informal discussion about the film and Corky’s legacy between Director Jennifer Takaki and Executive Producer George Hirose. Corky Lee was vital to the Japanese American community, photographing many events and helping to connect people and community leaders. Audience members are kindly invited to join the conversation. There will also be a reception with light food and drinks after the Q&A. Everyone is invited! Please RSVP by May 15th to [email protected] with “RSVP Corky Film” in the subject line.

FIREBOYS Alex Bailon, 18, whom we meet in prison, and Chuy Hernandez, 20, who is about to be released after serving his sentence, have both enrolled as volunteer firefighters for the California Department of Corrections and Cal Fire’s conservation “fire” camp program. Among the 43 camps across the state, Pine Grove Youth Conservation Camp alone is staffed exclusively by juveniles -- young people under the age of 21. @fireboysdoc @drewdickler @hochdocs /fireboys
