Just finished printing these amazing poster packs in time for TONIGHT’S public meeting and party organised by @defendunions.cfmeu.group . Come along from 5pm for discussion and a cook out and for a chance to grab one of these packs to help raise money to fight against administration at the CFMEU (and the threat this poses to all of our unions!). Poster packs are only available IRL! $100 for 11 beautiful 3 colour A4 prints commemorating some of Melbourne’s most beloved spaces, which are only here for us now because workers in construction had the foresight to save them by placing green bans on sites set to be demolished 💚 only 100 packs made, the original posters were made as a collaborative effort in thanks to those workers.

For our second issue, we enter the layered, in-between world of Glom Press @glompress , a Risograph press, comics publisher and community space based in Reservoir, Victoria. Issue 02: Riso Magic
Shared Impressions: Risograph, Comics, Community This issue follows a conversation with Bailey Sharp and Ben Juers at Glom Press, exploring the slow work of editing, teaching, printing and sustaining a creative publishing practice. Glom Press exists somewhere between minicomics and graphic novels, between self-publishing and institutional legitimacy, between the immediacy of the Risograph and the careful labour of collaboration. Their work reflects a belief in comics as a living, iterative medium — shaped as much by ink density, paper stock and distribution networks as by narrative and drawing. Through this issue, we look at Risograph not just as a printing method, but as a way of thinking: foregrounding imperfection, repetition, shared labour and the visible hand of production. You can get it from @sticky_institute 's #festivalofthephotocopier saturday from Steven or Sunday glom will have a table. 12>5 both days at @meatmarketmelb (also it's up on our website). 👀 Also from 7pm on the 7th (tonight) @pinkemberstudio have a Speaking to Pictures on with a bunch of great readers inc @benjuers 👀 Also also last week we also printed a new work-in-progress zine for @tommi_pg called SOUND BATH that'll be available from them or us via proxy tomorrow!

Spent the day other hanging out with @tommi_pg while they printed and bound their new zine ‘Sound Bath’ 💧 You can pick up a copy from them this weekend at Festival of the Photocopier. But also, tonight 🌚 come hangout at this drawing session Tommi has organised at @events_at_catalyst , 6 -> 8:30 We will see you there ✍️👀 X

Tomorrow, 11-4 we’ll be tabling at @schoolhouse_studios for the @heliopress 10 year anniversary print fair. All these competing local printers and presses in 1 room - it’ll be like heated rivalry!! (We haven’t seen it yet ❤️)

Momo dreams of acquiring and experiencing comics and print culture… ✨🔮💭 Lucky for her the next few weeks is promising! *Next Thursday 29/01 there’s the @heliopress exhibition and then Saturday 31/01 we’ll be tabling at the Helio Print fair at @schoolhouse_studios , 11-4pm *Then on 3/02 @tommi_pg is hosting a drawing and craft night at @events_at_catalyst , 6-8:30pm *Of course the biggest zine fair in the Southern Hemisphere @sticky_institute ‘s Festival of the Photocopier is on, 12-5pm, both the 7th and 8th of Feb (we’ll have a table on the Sunday) at @meatmarketmelb . *And that Saturday, the 7th, @pinkemberstudio is hosting Speaking to Pictures which glom @benjuers will be reading at along with other friends, from 7pm.

📣 We! Want! Your! Comic! Strips! 📣 Didn't make the submission window for our last issue? Not to worry: our hunger for comics is insatiable... and we want a regular supply of hors d'oeuvres!! Starting with #137: Gutter, each issue of Voiceworks is going to feature a standalone page of short, serialised strips – Voiceworks 'Strips' – printed by the riso virtuosos at @glompress !! If you've ever wanted to publish a running comic strip in print – your hour has come.* We can't wait to read your pitches – the link to submit is in our bio <3 (The willie wagtails above were drawn by the brilliant @indivangogh , and appeared in Voiceworks #135: Bend.) *Your hour concludes at midnight, Sunday 22 Feb. Artists, alas, must be under 25 to submit. Open to everyone living in Australia, and Australians living overseas.
