40 Acres has been nominated in over 10 categories for this years Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television awards.
This movie has been a highlight for me for the past three years. From going out and shooting in the crazy shifting weather of Sudbury and the incredible response to the film itself. Seeing it at TIFF was joy and then in theatres was a dream.
When R.T. and I got together to write this film, I didn’t expect this would be the destination. But here we are and I am grateful for everything that got us here.
To the others nominated for an award, you deserve it. You all made this movie what it is.

I want to say that the second handsomest man on earth passed away today. And I am crushed by the loss of my father, Elviston Taylor. He was kind, funny, sarcastic, helpful to anyone who asked and would literally give his shirt off his back to someone in need. I’ve seen it. I tried to think of images to share to show the type of person he was, but this video with his first granddaughter should tell you enough of the person he was. I love you dad, you are going to be missed.
