Wrapped a screenwriting mentorship thanks to the Ontario Arts Council!
Huge thank you to my mentor Jess Landry. We locked in on my outrageous script 'Death Stare' and really pushed it. The kind of focus that changes how you see your own work.
Grateful for the space to grow. Now it’s time to put this experience into my next offbeat concoction...

It’s Charlie’s adoptaversary!
13 years ago, we brought home an 8-month-old puppy from the great people at the @toronto_humane_society . And he makes our lives better every single day.

I’ve been weirdly obsessed with this idea ever since I heard some random Hollywood writer say they could write a feature in a few days…
So I tried it. Today is the first time I’ve written a five-day screenplay!
Is it good? No idea. Is it full of typos? 100%.
But it’s done. And that feels kind of awesome.
Cheers to me.
Grateful to the Canada Council for the Arts for supporting this work.

What does a tired film programmer do the day after wrapping their annual festival?
Of course… they end up at a secret screening.
No red carpet, but a packed theatre.
Just for the love of the craft and supporting filmmakers!
Yes, I love watching movies and they’re even better on the big screen!

It’s alive!
My latest, and by far my strangest, feature screenplay is officially DONE.
Endless gratitude to the Canada Council for the Arts for fueling the oddness.

🎬 Programmer’s Pick: Richard Pierre Edition! 🎟️✨
#CFF26 Festival and Industry Programmer Richard Pierre has selected two films for you to watch at the festival!
Mangittatuarjuk (The Gnawer of Rocks) – Fresh from Sundance, this traditional Inuit story is magically brought to life in beautifully crafted stop-motion animation that’s as visually arresting as it is haunting. A cinematic piece of folklore with wonderful character design, strong stakes, killer sound, and a perfect ending. Must See.
JAMES – An award-winning, wildly entertaining bike-theft caper that plunges into Vancouver’s grimy criminal underworld with mythic flair and mischievous twists. Shot in bold black and white, JAMES channels the offbeat spirit of the Coen Brothers. If you’ve ever had a bike stolen… this one’s for you.

Part of the joy of having a furry friend is trudging out in weather you don’t want to be in, then watching as your silly golden doodle acts like a puppy in the snow.
