An updated FAQ since we’ve hit 1,000 cranes for the “Eon’s Crane” community build! Did I miss a question you have? Drop it in the comments ✨

I received a lot of interest for participating remotely in the “Eon’s Cranes” community build so I am releasing the pattern and have made an online form with all the info you need to send in your contributions to my studio. The only requirement for participation is that you love trans people enough to actively build a world where they are safe, respected, and celebrated as their full selves. The plan is to build an immersive installation that trans and GNC folks will be invited to enter into the middle of. From the center they will see themselves reflected in the handiwork of a whole flock of people who see them as the chips off God they are. The form is linked in my bio but if you have any question you can email me at [email protected]

My Taurus Season inspired craft is the DIY planter from a reclaimed vessel and you have two opportunities to participate this season. You don’t have to be a Taurus to enjoy this class’s vibe ✨ First up is a Glass Cutting Afternoon Sunday May 15th at @merrypindc - tickets linked on their website. You can bring up to 5 glass vessels to repurpose. Next, if you want to gather your friends you can book a private session with me at my space at @52ostreetstudios - just email me to talk available dates!

May 1st will be the closing of L’enfance de l’art from @madeleinesartwork with the ticketed letter writing night 💌 Every sliding scale ticket purchases an original postcard and envelope hand painted by the artist. While the artist can’t be there (she says hello from Paris!) I will be there to offer you letter/post card writing supplies. The gallery is located at @52ostreetstudios ✨ Support local artists spaces and local artists (who happen to be living globally at the moment!) <3

We all want to feel connected. Modern life makes everything ~easier~ but then why are we all exhausted? Join me at @glassclassdc May 1st 6:00-8:00PM at @52ostreetstudios for a letter writing night. Your sliding scale ticket gets you your pick of a Madeleine Sargent hand painted postcard and envelope, access to additional letter writing/postcard making supplies, stamps, and light libations for the evening. Support artists and have a lovely slow evening ✨ 🎟️🔗 tickets linked in bio 🔗🎟️ From the artist @madeleinesartwork - “L’enfance de l’art, a French expression suggesting something instinctive and elemental, guided this series. In France, postcard-sized paintings allowed me to sustain my practice through play, curiosity, and quiet adaptation. Intimate in scale, they hold deep meaning for me, symbolizing connection—to home, to loved ones, to memories. Even in the face of uncertainty, a postcard remained possible. In my moments of doubt or exhilaration, I turned inward, translating feeling into small, self-contained worlds, each one poised to travel.” #thingstodoindc #washingtondc #acreativedc #DMV

thank you @glass.splinters 🎉 thank you @sevencitiesago 🎉 thank you Donna So 🎉 thank you @hot.mess.hollow 🎉 thank you @coffeerubiesglass 🎉 thank you @megredner 🎉 thank you @befreeglass (who I ~think~ sent in the 1,000th crane) 🎉 thank you staff from @congcemetery for spending the day with me at Bird Time today <3 I am famously bad at counting so take this Instagram countdown with a grain of salt but I feel comfortable saying we have made at least 1,000 stained glass cranes with the wish that all trans and gender non conforming folks be loved fully by the communities that surround them. I will work on a new FAQ but know I am still accepting mailed in cranes/hosting Bird Time as long as I am able to maintain my public facing studio. This will give me cushion if cranes ever break or to expand the installation beyond 1,000. Thank you everyone who has participated so far! I can’t wait to show you what we’ve built. The flock will be displayed for the first time publicly at Congressional Cemetery’s Gays & Graves event June 14th 2026 at the chapel.
