When you’ve been deep in a game project for a long time, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in the development grind. I really love what I do, and I tend to get fully immersed in every detail. But once the game is out and things slow down, the whole perspective shifts. Letting go of something you’ve poured so much into and handing it over to the players is a surreal transition. It reminds me that the goal isn’t just to make the game. It’s also to share it, to watch people experience it in their own way, and to see it take on a life beyond the development process. ❤️

A student from Kazakhstan sent me a message recently and shared this performance of The King’s Lullaby, a piece I wrote for The Baby in Yellow, after playing it at a concert at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography in Astana.
What made it especially meaningful was hearing that he’d spent most of his life training as a dancer, and only started learning piano after entering college. I’m genuinely honoured that he chose to learn and perform one of my pieces. Thank you, Sherkhan. @sherkhan.kurbanzhan
It’s always amazing to see game music reaching people in ways I never expected. ❤️

Had a great time on the Sound Business Podcast with Akash Thakkar! 🎧
We talked about how game jams shaped my path into game audio, transitioning from a classical background, and building a sustainable creative career. I’ve been listening to this podcast for a long time, so being a guest felt a bit surreal. Grateful for the conversation and the opportunity to share my story.
If you’re interested in game audio or just getting started this episode is for you!

Got to hang out with Airdorf recently and he surprised me with a signed FAITH: The Unholy Trinity CD!
As someone also working in indie horror games, I really appreciate all the effort that goes into this craft, and I have the utmost respect for solo developers who pull it off. I especially admire the aesthetic and design of FAITH, it truly stands out in the genre!
The Baby in Yellow composer meets FAITH developer: two worlds of demons colliding! 😈✝️ @airdorfofficial

We just submitted our game for Girly Game Jam 🎀
Pocket Pet Makeover: Cuteness Faceoff was created in one week, from March 7 to March 13, inspired by the theme “the small things.”
In the game, you collect charms and bedazzle your pocket pet before school. Each day brings a new theme. Pick charms from your collection, decorate your pet to match the theme, then face off against a playground rival to see whose pocket pet amazes the audience the most.

Recently I spoke at the Austin Game Music Festival at Austin Community College.
My talk “From Game Jam to Game Career” covered how I got started in game audio and why game jams are such an important space for composers to gain experience, collaborate with developers, and build portfolios.
I also helped organize and lead the composition focused game jam during the festival!
