“Geramee Hensley is Deceased, and I Am Filing This Tax Return On Their Behalf” feat. late-capitalism malaise, nonincriminating speech, and my boi Wittgenstein is live at @theoffingmag for your viewing pleasure. I wrote this poem when I was unemployed and after a long stretch of disengaging with poetry because of the, y’know, hustling I had to do to not die. It contains pieces of a poem I originally wrote for @awpair , who it is still dedicated to, but I also gotta give one forehead kiss to Chamel A. Threw it up in my bio. If you give it a read, give me a shout. *”dead” fit better in the graphic, but “deceased” is the correct verbiage for tax purposes *art credit “Monumentum Anna Mariae Ferrirs” engraved by Giovanni Putti from “Collezione scelta dei monumenti sepolcrali del comune cimitero di Bologna” edited by Natalie Salvardi in 1825 /wit-tea/geramee-hensley-is-deceased-and-i-am-filing-this-tax-return-on-their-behalf/

Happy to introduce you to the Troctopus Press submission to the 2025 Game Off hosted by itch.io and GitHub. Tractatus is a game both familiar and strange. Inspired by the work of philosopher, Ludwig Wittgenstein, this game utilizes plain speech and simple mechanics to help introduce a more profound understanding of our relationship to language. This game evokes an ebb and flow of understanding as moments with both the physical controls and the writing “click” but then are soon washed away testing how we can adapt and grow our understanding throughout the gameplay experience. This artistically driven game could not have been possible without the conceptual direction of @gerameee , the exquisite music of @lacrimorta , the art and videos from @troctopus , and the brilliance of Ember Chan. . It’s through collaboration that we all continue to grow and develop lasting relationships with the arts. We all learn from each other, we all share admiration, and we all lift each other up and it’s with huge gratitude that we were able to build this game together and publish it. It’s free to play online and you can access it here or in the link through my bio: www.troctopus.itch.io/tractatus-logico-philosophicus. . . . . . #game #gamedesign #gamedev #indiegame #philosophy #wittgenstein #ludwigwittgenstein #tractatus #tractatuslogicophilosophicus #troctopuspress #ink #inkdrawing #art #newmedia #gameart #gamejam #itch #github #emilandkray #nikolettawinters #gerameehensley

Friends, our friend Emalind Kray, a Tucson artist, game designer, and founder of @troctopus press needs some help. After searching for employment for months, Em’se bike was stolen today on their first day of work. Biking is Em’s only means of transportation, and without it, they can’t get to work and have very limited mobility around Tucson in general. Em is one of the most generous people in the world, and despite months of financial hardship, they’ve remained committed to community mutual aid, art making, and generosity. If you know Em, you love Em. We’re hoping the community can give some of that support and generosity back with donations to help Em buy a new e-bike and find alternate transportation for work in the meantime. I am revisiting some old things. Previous iterations of myself. I can’t believe I included this note in a packet of poems to a grad school workshop. There are moments of grad school—especially my first year—that are totally blocked out for me. I was surviving. Now I’m remembering. Like five years ago, just a few months after my own mother died, @patrickrosal tweeted “In effect, a child who outlives their mother is born twice.” I’ve had it screenshotted since then, and I haven’t stopped being born since.

A huge thanks to @geek.native for writing this article including a game designed by Geramee Hensley @gerameee and myself: Vestiges! We designed this game for a game jam hosted by DriveThru RPG earlier this year and it is designed to be beginner friendly and narrative focused. Players take on the role of aspects of the mind of an amnesiac protagonist and must sift through dreams and nightmares to recover their lost memories. You can read more about it here: /206530/beyond-the-character-sheet-how-vestiges-explores-the-mechanics-of-memory/ And you can purchase a pdf or a print copy at the links in my bio!
