Thrilled to announce that the Generationals remix of Goldenrod is streaming everywhere today! Jenny says: It has been a true gift to be remixed by Generationals not once but twice. I am blown away by their ability to transform my darkest, saddest, quietest songs into absolute bangers, while somehow carefully preserving the emotional core with inconceivable musical deftness. For anyone whose deepest wish is to cry on the dancefloor. Grant says: It took three seconds to realize that Goldenrod would be an absolute blast to remix. Jenny has a unique ability to articulate melancholy and combine it with gorgeous melody, and remixing those elements from Goldenrod into a dancefloor track was an irresistible opportunity. Jenny is one of the most skillful songwriters of our generation and we’re thrilled to have been given the chance to remix this amazing song. Goldenrod (Generationals Remix) is one of ten bonus tracks to be included on the deluxe edition of Avalanche, out 11/22 on Yep Roc.

It really takes the song and puts it in a whole new context, which is what I think a great remix ultimately does, so I’m very grateful to Generationals for the care they took to make this a great one. Very happy to say that a @generationals remix of Half Hearted will be hitting the internet on 8/21! I’ll say right now, when I first heard this remix I sat in my car happy laughing for ten minutes playing it on repeat and I hope it does the same number on you. This is a picture from my birthday last year when Ted and Grant took me on a grand tour of New Orleans at the tail end of our tour together. My birthdays have felt particularly unlucky over the years, but this photo was taken moments after a random man in a tux came up to us in a courtyard and gave me $100 to add to the stack of bills pinned to me. Safe to say the luck changed in that moment and it looks like it carried right on through to the realm of remixes. 💎Are You Okay?💎 … Oct. 10-12 We’re excited to announce a weekend of shows that will happen this October in our hometown of New Orleans at one of our favorite clubs in the city: Santos Bar. We’ll be playing with a unique line-up of musicians and old friends and surprise guests, all of which we’ll tell you more about soon. It will be unlike any shows we’ve ever done. We will be playing songs from across our catalogue. Some we haven’t played in over a decade. Other songs we’ve never played ever. On one of the nights we might play one of our records in its entirety. No two nights will be the same. We’d love for you to join us for multiple nights, if not all three. This Thursday [May 16] we’re going to start out by offering weekend passes to these shows that will get you in for all three nights…as well as an option that will include some added special gifts from us. As we get closer to the shows we’ll put some tickets on-sale to each individual show — but first we wanted to offer passes to the people who want to join us for all three nights.
